My Nissan dealer is giving me the run around regarding the top separation issue some of you have experienced on your roadsters. They say there is no problem and that I am unique. I would like to ask for anyone who has had their top replaced due to separation to contact me via e-mail and respond on this board.

Thank You,

That is odd. I simply drove in, had them loook at it, and got the parts ordered in no time, even got a rental out of it. The new top is the same, but it might not do the same way, as it appears that the place that installed it didn't stretch it to its limit. (still somewhat tight though)

FIGHT-FIGHT FIGHT. Here's a couple of threads worth reading

After fighting for 4 weeks and finally getting the top ordered the dealer told me they had no one qualified to replace it so they sent it to a 3rd party.
If you do get it done make sure they order new clam shells for the seat bars up front as per the TSB because once they are removed they can not be used again because the clips break.

Total install time was 5 Days, I dropped my car off on Monday, 8am and picked it up on Friday, 6pm. They game me a loaner car (Quad Cab F150) for the time, so it wasnt so bad.
It is a tad bit different than the old one, Its a good bit darker black and the road noise is quite a bit higher on it. It might stretch out a bit in the summer, but I will have to wait a while for that. Its hard to beleive I had to wait till winter to get it changed. But its done now.

SQ40,
What kind of top separation issue are you facing? Please describe or attach a picture. A few of us here has a hole from stressed seams on the rear passenger side, just above the rear window. There are few discussions here about that. I just reported mine to the dealer. Since my car is in winter storage, they will deal with it next spring. Do you have the same issue? If your dealer think you are the only one, may be you are the only one they know about?? Ask them to do a search or get confirmation from Nissan before dismissing it.

I actually got it fixed recently under warranty.
The Seams were tearing appart above the back glass on both the driver and passenger side of the vehicle. The drivers side was about 1 inch in length and the passengers about 4 in lengh.
