Do you prefer the Coupe or the Roadster?

I live in the deep south, so weather is not really a factor, with the top down I love to hear that sound. As for security, lets face it, the car manufacurers have not yet come up with a car that cannot be broken into and driven within a couple of minutes, if they want it they'll take it.
The coupe is a beautiful ride and classy looks, maybe I should get another!!!!

The wieght difference is more like 200 pounds. and the roadster goes 0 - 60 in 5.8 seconds.

I know I am fairly new to this forum, but I have to add my 2 cents...I have been looking at the Z for awhile and I waiting for the 06'...Roadster...But it really comes down to what you want the car for...The Z is going to be a 3rd car for me...It will usually be driven with the top down...After work, weekends, etc...I have researched many convertibles the past couple months and there aren't many that look good with the top up...That wasn't what they were made for...Miami would be a wonderful place for a convertible (as is Vegas)...As far as performance...What are your goals??? I test drove an 05' Roadster for about 30min...Took it to 120mph...Handled wonderfully...Maybe not as good as coupe in head to head, but doesn't matter for me...I am not going to be adding a bunch of mods or racing at a track...I am looking for a great sports car/convertible as a 3rd car...Found this in the Z...Someone mentioned a used Porsche Boxter for the same price...Good luck...Maybe an 02' in the low 40s...BTW drove a new Boxter...Can easily afford it, but not so much better that I am going to fork over another 15-20K...Define your goals and it will become easier to make your decision...
roadster looks good with the top down. Not a fan of it with the top up. Its also alot more money which kept me away.
If the Z was my weekend car. I would love to have the roadster and pretty much leave the top down as much as I could.

Price was also not a deciding factor to me. I drove the Boxster S, BMW Z4, S2000, and New Audi TT. My decision was to buy the Z Roadster. My reasons were that I wanted a car that had personality and was a pleasure to drive, all these cars did this but the Z roadster moreso then the others. The Boxster screams "poor mans Porsche". With all the ways that Porsche cut back to make the Boxster affordable to its market segment, the Z picks these missing variables up. The depreciation of the Boxter alone brough back memories of my 2003 Saab convertible. The Roadster is an awesome value for what you get in comparsion to the others. Take for example the new 250HP Audi TT, it is 20K more and still not as impressive as the Z.
If you compare apples to apple the Z is an awesome roadster worthy of any of its competition.
You missed the whole point of that post. The post was to prove to him that you can get a used porsche boxster at low miles at a reasonable price.
Nowhere did I say the boxster was better then the 350Z roadster.

Alot of you guys seem to talk about price when making the big decision but what IF you were to get a good deal on a roadster like me? $29,550 for a fully loaded Touring roadster even has NAVI, the works, yeah it was a 04 model (built in 07/04) but hey it only had 8 miles on this baby either ways it new.
I prefer the roadster over the coupe....IMO it looks pretty sharp when fixed up properly, but the biggest question is what you intentions are with the car?
I can truly say I prefer the Roadster over the Coupe becuase I have owned both....(not saying one is better than the other)
I will say if you are going to mod it extremly then the Coupe is better for you...

This has been debated since day one.
The Roadster is 200# heavier. To offset this Nissan geared the rear end in the Roadster different than the Coupe. This helps keep the speed times close to the Coupe. Unless you are going to take it to the track or to the autobaun, it really is a non issue. Coupe owners act like the Roadster is slow as hell. They are mis-representing or just don't have their facts straight.
There have been issues with the top in the Roadsters produced June and July of 2003. Very very few have had problems outside of these two production months. I had the top issue and the tire feathering and that is all that has gone wrong with my roadster.
The looks between them top up top down. It is all personal taste. I have owned both 03' Coupe and now 04' Roadster. I would never even entertain the concept of owning another Z coupe. I have so much more fun in this car than in my old Z coupe. IMO there is no comparison in fun factor. NONE!!

Actually you didn't prove anything to me...My point was that you could get a used Boxter for low 40s but it would be an 02'...I had already researched that...Hmmm 02' Boxter vs. 06' Brand new Z roadster...Easy decision...
