Modded Roadsters
yeah after surtain mph and 1/4 times you cant race a convertable with out roll bar and some other things
same with coupes but less crap.........its more restrictive the faster you get thats why drag racing sucks

I've taken my SB ZR to NE dragway twice.
Like most strips you have to run with the top and window up.
At the time I had an ATI procharger (7lb pulley), stillen headers and exhaust and the best I ran was a 13.2 at 109mph.
I have also autoX'd the car at local clubs, but was informed that because I did not have a roll bar that went above my head when in the car [of course, near impossible with a big helmet on], I would not be able to participate in a SCCA solo run.

As far as I know, as long as you follow the rules, they can not kick you off a track.
BUT as noted before, I think they apply the cage requirement earlier to convertibles.
I have been racing a few times (Highly modded for both performance and looks) and so far they have only told me to use a helmet. BUT my times SUCK as I can't get decent traction (low 13’s).
I have been spending the winter building the car up and I am pushing over 450+ rwhp at the moment. I am in process of replacing the LSD (carbon clutch style) and the rear axle. Once I have these done, I will get some 295/305 DR’s and I expect to be cooking in the 12's. Then I have a fully built motor in April that should get me to over 650+rwhp.
At this point I know I will need a cage and have a shop already lined up to see if they can rig up a bolt-in cage.
I will keep you informed if you want. Not too far from you Jenna. I am racing at MIR at Buds creek Maryland.
Check out the Mid-A regional threads. I have a couple of race days I am setting up for March and May. Join us if you like.

I have gotten updated 2006 NHRA rules from various members. If you would like I can confirm them in 2 weeks at MIR (I am going on the morning of the 11th for the Test & Tune) and get back to you all with specifics.
