Default Getting ready to take the plunge

Hey guys,
I'm currently about 90% sure I'll be getting a '06 350z roadster shortly, so I've been trolling the forums the past 2-3 weeks to get myself up to date on the vehicle. I was initially considering an IS350, but have since had to change my mind due to the astronomical price; nearly $45k + tax after getting all the options I wanted! Needless to say, after taking a look at the Z, it seems to be much more affordable heh.

Right now I'm just wrestling over what color and package to get. I'm pretty set on either redline or lemans sunset, with either the enthusiast or touring package. The more I look at the touring package, the more it looks like it's not worth it! Yesterday at the dealership, I noticed the enthusiast comes with a power drivers seat, but not power passenger. So the touring basically adds power passenger seat, leather/heat, side airbags, and bose system for $2500. And seeing how I'm going to dump the stereo anyway, it seems like all I get for the extra $2500 is nicer seats. I like the leather and all... but for $2500? I dunno. What do you guys think?

My brother has a 2004 Enthusiast Roadster and I have a 2004 Touring Roadster, unless you plan on putting in after market sterreo and seats the extra 2k for the touring is worth it. On long drives you will notice that the enthusiast seats are way more uncomfortable then the touring, plus you can get the netted sets with the touring which are awesome...

Also never under estimate the protection of side airbags in a accident, although the odds are you will probably die if you ever get in a accident in a roadster since your open to all sorts of flying parts

After spending some time in my roadster my brother regrets not getting the touring... As far as the bose sterreo in the touring edition it's pretty good, at least good enough that I don't feel the need to replace it with an aftermarket setup, plus if you do keep your factory sterreo you don't have to worry about someone ripping your top with a knife to get to your aftermarket sterreo, or worry about parking it with the top down as you run into the store real quick...

Also not sure how you can compare a IS350 to a 350z roadster, they are on opposite sides of the spectrum.. The 350z roadster is the perfect 2nd car but if its your only car I would give some serious thought into buying one. They have no trunk space, very unpractacle and driving with the top up kind of sucks with its blind spots... But like I said its the pefect weekend fun car when the suns out

the o6 does not have the power passenger seat, that's odd I have the 05 redline roadster (enthusiast) and the passenger seat is power.
PS
get the redline it looks great with silver or black wheels

which part of the country are you in? you can bargain 06 for 3K below sticker price. A friend of mine just pick up his 06ZR touring (no leather seat, no nav) for $35,900 out the door with low-jack and extend warranty (San Jose, CA). Basicly, at this time of the year, it is cold so you can bargain for a good deal for ZR. Keep that in mind.

The touring also has the 18" wheels, which I believe the enthusiast doesn't. I could be wrong. If you're worrie about keeping it clean, go with the lemans. I get compliments on how clean my car is even when I think it's filthy. IT's funny you have to look really close to see any dirt. My opinion is go with the touring. As other's have stated here it's the complete package. Only thing I would change on mine is I wish I had the orange ventilated seats. You will love the car though.

Im pretty sure leather seats on the touring model are standard, at least on the Roadster anyways....

Only thing I hate about my Redline (bright color) is how easy it swirls.

Have you looked at the IF color?

Correction. You're right. It is not touring. It is Enthusiast

Actually I was planning on getting an enthusiast + $250 for side air bags. I also believe heavily in the safety aspect. Thanks for your input though, I will do some more thinking about things before I go through with it.

IF is a little bit too... weird, in my opinion. Its too purple looking in the sunlight and doesn't really suit my taste. Red is hot though! Black and lemans is good too with the ventilated seats. Argh. So many choices!

I've seen one in person. It looks great in one light, but terrible in another. Personally, I liked it with darker setting, but on brighter setting too much of a camelione (sp?) effect/too many color shades, etc.
