Yeah, the top if just fine in the snow. I would recomend putting protectant on it before you go, but you've probably already done that. The top is made to handle all weather conditions though and you will be fine.

If you're driving to Reno, snow on your soft top in the least of your worries. If it snows, you're going to have to put chains on in order to be allowed on any major highways there. If you have 18' wheels, chains are going to be a problem. Also, CalTrans use sand to melt the snow, so the freeway turns into a 50-mile long sand blaster. I just drove there a couple of weekends ago; even though it hadn't snowed for at least 5-6 days, my car (drove my beater up there) was getting blasted by all the sand/pebbles left on the road surface. The only thing I was thinking was am I grateful to be driving my Camry... Not to mention that if it snows and the road is icy, you have to watch out for fools straying/spinning into your lane. Last but not least, the stock tires on your ZR are going to be as useful as **** on a boar in the snow and/or cold conditions.

Thats good advice. If you encounter below zero temps and there is precipitation. Drive very carefully or better yet, park your Z until the salt trucks arrive or you will get in an accident.

If the top is OK in the rain, why would snow be a problem?

The weight. But i had 2.5 ft on my top, didn't bother it a bit. At a cabin over
the weekend, had to put cables on tires, but it didn't help much. Still had
to get pulled out to plowed road. Scary drive down the mountain.

Snow on your top is the least of your problems. Without snow tires or chains you are screwed. If snow is deep your screwed even with snow tires and chains. Z's were not designed to plow through snow.
