Im looking at it closely, and it looks authentic to me... perhaps this is the one thats in the states for the shoot. but jmanz said it would be under wraps... this is pretty out in the open.
the only odd thing I see, is what looks like snaps on the back side... it is a power top right?
otherwise it looks nice to me...

My take.....
This IS the factory drop top............the "roof" you see is actually a clever cover.?? If you look closely you'll see how loose it fits especially the back window. My thinking is this: if this IS a custom job who in their right mind would accept this type of quality and pay for it? Secondly why would Nissan bother to disguise the parts of the car which we have already seen? they simply throw a sloppy cover over the factory roof and can transport the car at a much cheaper price......... I've seen other manufacturers do similar things to disguise convertibles. Just my take on this........

To me it looks like some sort of faux cover over a regular Z roof. Doesn't looking convincing at all.
Any why would someone have a convertible custom made when one is coming soon? Unless they have extra money to flush.

It's definatly custom. Here's why.
1) If it was an official authentic Z convertible, do you think it'd be hooked by chains on the back of a flatbed tow truck where it can get damaged by rocks, chips, ect ect, and most importantly, the public sees it before hand?
2) What idiot would spend the money into a custom, which by the way costs around 6,000 dollars, when he could just wait nearly 6-7 months and buy one for 30-32,000?

if its factory wheres the white stickers that covers the bumper, handles, etc.. You know when the cars comes in the have those white stickers all over it.
Looks like it has license plates on it. plus isn't that just a tow truck? don't factory ship them on a different truck?
Last, it has to be custom, it has the lip spoiler, YET its not a track model, no track rims and don't see the brembos

those are temp tags.
that is how youd transport a single car how else would yo do it? a whole car carrier? not likely. grab a flat bed. best way to transport a car.
as for te spoiler, if it was the real deal, nissan can do whatever the hell they want. but thats not really a deciding factor cause you can add an aero package to a touring or performance too and have those rims(might even be able to add the rims to the bottom 2 models since your paying for a set of chrome rims anyway)
