Default Parrot bluetooth install on the roadster

Heres the 3100 parrot installed on my roadster and the optimal mic position after trying different areas. This had the least wind noise and actually usable with the top down. Down use any fancy relay switches if you have a bose amplifier just connect only the front driver speaker directly to the speaker wires behind the bose radio and the rear speaker parrot wire to the car's right front speaker (this will mute the right front speaker. DON'T use the mute lines. And don't use the navigation voice input line because its WAY too quiet for the roadster, top down. Hope this helps...it took me awhile to figure out the best placement.

By the way, the tom tom navigation software for the pda allows the car speaker to be used to give you direction through the parrot bluetooth....simply awesome.

Thanks for that report. I make a plug and play Parrot to Bose harness adapter that mutes and lets the sound come out of all the speakers - it works great with the top down - see http://members.***.net/quickconnect

It sounds like you came up with an alternative albeit without complete mute or surround sound. If you are hooking up the Parrots amp in parallel with the speaker being fed by the Bose amp and not using a relay, that sounds like a problem with Bose audio feeding back into the Parrot and vice versa.

You wouldn't be able to retrofit my HBBH-1 unit if you cut off your ISO connectors on the Parrot however.

There is no feeding back since the parrot has a relay built-in to separate the signals. The only disadvantage is that its not a complete mute but I find this better so I don't miss what I'm listening to. My navigation on my lexus doesn't completely mute the radio and I like this better.
One point that has to be made is that an amplified signal is going to the bose amplifier so it will be LOUD and you have to turn the volume on the parrot down.
It sounds like you have a cool product but I hope its loud enough with the top down.

Davewo,
If you are feeding 3 watts into the Bose amp expecting about .1 watts of differential input, that is another big problem. I'm glad you are happy with your solution but I would not recommend that to others - and I'm not saying it to try to make a sale of my harness interface to anyone - seriously. The HBBH-1 gives you a wide range of volume even with the top down. Howard

Did a search for the Parrot, and found this link: http://www.wirelessgalaxy.com/blueto...&Search=parrot

Here's the part that got me:

Part # CK3100
Manufacturer: Parrot

The most advanced Bluetooth car kit from Parrot featuring an LCD display
Regular Price: $199.99
Our Price: $224.22

Overpriced and proud of it! Bet they sell a ton of these on that site....

Funny. Must be an old linkfrom Wireless Galaxy. The 3200 is now the latest. I carry the 3100 and 3200 if you need with my harness. If you folks would please forgive me posting my links:

even less if you bundle with the HBBH-1, see

It does look like it sticks out due to the night shot with flash.
It looks way more incoporated in person.

I like what this fellow did on his Camry with the CK3100.

Nice, I was thinking of doing that, but it would of left a big hole if I didn't like it.

Did you drill hole in the a-pilllar to accomodate the mic chord? That looks like a pretty good place to put the mic for my (soon to be) Avic Z1.

No, it slips in between the plastic attachements. The wire tracks behind the a-pillar and glass.

I received the kit from QuickConnect (shipped the same day as ordered) but haven't had time to install. If my schedule holds I'll be installing this weekend. I'm going to mount the mic in the same place as davewo ... just not sure where I'll place the Parrot control unit. Need to play around with the positoning a bit more.

You're going to really like the parrot. Callers have told me that they can't even tell I'm in my car (of course with the top up). There is another adapter you could use that comes with the kit that can attach your mic flush with the a-pillar.
You have to use the navigation function if you have the gps function. Don't use anything except the TOM TOM software. Absolutely awesome, better software than the ones that come in most built in systems.
