The Nissan parts catalogue shows a mirror, same as the one that comes with the roadster, but has a compass in the lower right corner. I asked the parts guy at my dealer if they could install it; he looked it up and claimed it was only for the coupe and wouldn't work in the roadster. He didn't know why, maybe because of wiring for the top or something.

On all the parts sites that I have seen, there is nothing stated about this mirror being for coupe only. So, have any of you roadster owners swapped out the stock rearview mirror for the one with the compass? If so, did you do it or have the dealer or another mechanic do the installation?

I'd really like to have it, would love to get the whole story as to whether it's possible or not.
