Question Heated Seat Question

Are the heated seats supposed to heat the back and the seat bottom? Mine only heat the back, which seems odd, especially since the graphic on the switch has the head coming up from the bottom. I don't have the the ventilated seats, just black leather.

Also, when you leave it on high, should the seats stay very warm for a long time? People have complained that the seats don't get very warm. When I leave mine on "high" it seems like it takes forever for them to get warm, and then they only stay warm for maybe a minute and then cycle off. Does the Z take into account the outside temperature or something?

I feel stupid complaining about something like heated seats, but damnit, I paid enough for this car, I want everything to work right!

Ya the heated seats basicaly suck... I have the ventilated ones and they only heat the bottom of your @ss, and it takes about 10 mins for them to feel warm, that lasts for about 10-15 mins and then they go cold again, this is pretty much the cycle...

Wierd, mine get super hot in maybe 30 seconds and stay that way (back and bottom). Sometimes I click the switch accidently and then wonder why my butt is on fire for a sec.

Maybe I'll take mine back then. On my car (an '06 if that matters) only the seatback gets warm.

I hate the location of these buttons, it is where I rest my elbows when I am not shifting, turn em on all the time and I swear I can smell my azz burning!!

If you are wearing a coat or layered clothes you will not feel the heat as much on the back until the bottom (your bottom) is hot! And then the heat from the bottom seems to over take the heat feeling from the back.

I don't think thats it ... I know sometimes if I'm wearing thicker clothes, yea obviously I am not going to feel the heat as much, but i'll lift up and put my hand on the seat bottom, and it is not warm to the touch ...

I got the ventilated seats and the seat heaters are pretty crappy. They do get semi-warm after 10-15 minutes and stay that way, but its barely noticeable. I live in socal, so maybe the lack of any cold weather makes it more difficult for me to be able to tell if the seats are hot or not haha

I live in No. Virginia, have only used the heated seats a couple times so far, but they seem fine. Heat up fast and stay warm long enough. Course they were only on for a fairly short time, when I was driving around at night.

I wasn't wearing a jacket or anything other than just jeans and a light sweater, FWIW.

My bun warmers work pretty well, both the lumbar and the seat bottom get warm. I use mine a good 75% of the year, but I like my buns toasted (does that sound wierd? I think it does).

Anyway there definitely is a cyle to is, but it should come back around and get warm again. I assume you've tried both positions on the switch?

Yep. Sometimes on low it does what you'd expect, just maintains a low warm-ness. But othertimes, it seems to do nothing at all. Once I left it on high and forgot all about it, I don't think it got at all warm until at least 20 minutes later ...

Saying you like toasted buns isn't weird ... if we were talking about hamburgers

Stepson, yes, both back and bottom got warm. Nicely warm - not too hot, not too cold.

Temp outside wasn't all that cold, low 60's maybe. I had the top down, windows up, heat and heated seats on. Love it!
