Default Water drips into window

So, we just had some MAJOR storms blast through the Detroit area, and as I was driving around in the rain, I noticed that if I crack my window open a little bit, water will start to come in unless I'm going about Mach 12 down the highway. Does this happen with anybody else?

It wouldn't be such a big deal, except that the water drips right down the tweeter cover sometimes, and down on to the window and mirror controls on the arm rest the majority of the time.

It doesn't seem like something that would have gone un-noticed by Nissan engineers. Perhaps they just didn't care though.

Never tried opening the window when it's MAJOR storming out. Not sure why you or anyone would do that. Obviously the Nissan engineers didn't think so either.

That happens to me too but I don't even open the window, it seems like the water just found a way to worm its way through the weatherstripping, but it leaks in the same place you mention.

This isn't unique to the ZR, most convertibles do it. Because of the softtop, they can't incorporate a gutter system onto the top like a coupe.

The Coupe has a gutter system? HA!!!! Everytime I spray washer fluid on my windshield I have to not forget to put up the windows.

As far as water coming in through the window seals I've had that happen with the windows closed. I've only noticed the water coming in from where the passenger side mirror is. Fortunately this has happened a few times during bad storms.

It happens to me all the time and I gotta roll the window down in a storm because I can't see from the limo tint.

Same here on my 04. I have only noticed it on the driver side so far and actually it was this morning. I haven't looked yet but I was figuring something got trapped in the door molding.

If you guys find that water is making it way through the seal with the window closed, you can adjust the seals. The instructions are in the shop manual. Nissan even has a spec of how much water pressure can be applied before leakage occurs.

Well, it's definitely good to know that it's not just MY Z that's having this issue, or even ZRs but ALL soft tops. I'll have to do some fiddling and see if there's something I can do to remedy this problem.

Hey I have been having a problem with my windows leaking when closed! Just a little water comes in, but over the course of a year now I'm starting to get that moldy smell. I'm going to shampoo my carpets next weekend, hopefully that will take care of the smell, but does anybody else have a problem with leaks in their coupe?
I kind of want to take it back to the dealer, but I'm thinking maybe it's because of my tint (which isn't overly thick or dark, and I didn't have this problem on my last Z tinted by the same guy). Any imput?
