New Top for my Roadster :)
So my roadster has 32k miles and I took it into the dealer for the first time to just get warranty stuff done. I've been wanting to go for a while but have just been lazy.
I decided to tell them to look at the top to see if I could get a new one. There was one section of stitching that looked like it might become a problem down the road. I honestly expected to get denied since the problem is so minor and could likely fit under wear and tear, but I just told the guy that I read there are problems and I'm concerned about it becoming a problem in the future. No questions asked he ordered me a new top. It's good for other reasons as well, since I have a very small white spot (likely from paint) that I've yet to completely remove, and it's faded a little since new.
I have the navy blue top and love the navy on the silver Z.
FYI, the other major problems I'm having looked at are:
1) Left speakers don't work most of the time when playing from CD
1a) They ordered me a new head unit
2) I get a suspension clunk when going over small bumps at slower speeds.

Yeah, Town North in Austin.
Well I don't know what the service manager did, but I dropped the car off yesterday and he called me a few hours later and told me I could likely plan on picking my car up on Friday. He said they ordered the top yesterday and it'd get here on Wednesday.
He spoke as if he just ordered the top without hesitation.
visionboy - The service writer's name was Eric.

This is a picture of another user's top, but mine is essentially the same, but not quite as significant, maybe half the size:

Well newer is better than older.
Plus on sunny days if you look from inside of the car I can actually see sunshine shining through. Albeit it hasn't leaked at all during carwashes I thought it could grow into a larger problem. I don't drive the car in the rain so it's more of a issue I'd like fixed for resale/future owners of the car.

Yea thats warrantable, the best thing that I can tell you to do though to try and make your top last as long as it can is get some of the special treatment that they make for them to lengthen the life.
A friend of mine that I go to school used some on his GT mustang this past week and it totally changed the look of his top from a somewhat whitened/grayed black top to a deep deep black with somewhat of a shine. He told me that as he was putting it on he could feel the top getting looser and more flexible under his hands. Ill ask him tommorrow what the name of the treatment was that he used.

I also have an 04 Roadster that has a bad top. I now have 34,756 miles on her and I waited until today to take it in and give them the LONG laundry list of Warranty repairs it needs.
After the service Manager regained his breath from looking over the long list, he said everything should be covered. He inspected the top and said without hesitation that he would get the new one ordered. So, we will see how long it takes!

I mostly drive my FX35, only time I use the Roadster is when I head to the beach on weekends, otherwise it pretty much sits in the garage...
