Looks somewhat similar, though I don't think it's to the point where people will be confusing the 2. I know many have expressed the same sentiment, but I just don't like the convertible Z at all. The back of the roof line drops off so quickly that it makes it look so different from the coupe.

It is no surprise that it looks like a boxter. When you read Nissan designer statements, they compare the Z to the Boxster directly. I believe the Boxster S was used as a benchmark for the Z thus the close specs in performance.

The convertible destroys the whole roofline distinction of the Z

Default Boxster like?

I think a lot of folks will confuse the two. The Z is more angular and the details make it stand apart. I could care less that they look close. I plan on buying the Z roadster. Test drove both and I like the ergos in the Z better. Plus, what a savings for similar performance!

Heard any rumors regarding a detachable hardtop for the Z?

Actually the boxster looks prettier IMO... The lines are more long lasting. I really gotta give it to Porsche...The 2003 Boxster is even more gorgeous, they changed the car significantly, different suspension, more sound insulation, tighter steering, different front end, more flared rear end.

I really don't get why everyone expects the 350Z roadster to look so much like the 350Z hardtop, when it is not possible to achieve that and why would you want that? It would not matter if it was a retractable hardtop or a soft top it would never look the same either way. And I think that is a good thing. They are different cars so why would you want them to look the same? There is going to be enough hardtops on the streets already. Look at the Audi TT, the two cars look totally different and they both look great. I am sure when the TT roadster first came out, every complained about how different the roof lines look and the TT roadster sucks. Well look at it how after time, the TT roadster looks great, and if you don't like it just buy the hardtop if that is what you prefer. I personally prefer the TT roadster to the TT hardtop, and I am sure after time the 350Z roadster will start to look great also. They are totally different cars and it should be kept that way. I presently have a 350Z hardtop now, and I just love it, however I also like the look of the roadster. I would love to have one of those parked in my garage! I am also sure there will be a lot less of them out on the streets, which even makes them more desirable!

Boxter looks better.

First pic I've seen of the Z convert. with the roof up, I don't like it at all. One of the Z's best features IMO is the roof line.

It looks even more like a Lexus SC, but cheaper. Just my opinion.
