I recently posted a thread about why we dont have glove boxes....well i have had my new 350z track 2006 roadster for 3months and i went down stair today to go to the gym....and i get out the elevator and look around my undercover gurage has only 2-3 cars in it normally about 30...i walk towards mine and i step on the shattered glas...i think **** someones car got broken into...then walk to mine to see a rectangle sliced out of the top someone got in and took the GPS (tomtom) sunnies etc...
i feel like crying
insurance is going to charge me $1000 excess! and i lost my tomtom!

Sorry to hear man, that sucks. They probably broke in because of your GPS unit or wiring being visible. Lesson learned I guess never every leave your car with stuff in plan view.

damn that sucks. I get nervous everyday for my roadster, and I really can't wait for a hardtop conversion for it, because the vinyl soft top is an easy access. One thing I do is take everything out of the car, when I park for work or at home. Oh, and we do have gloveboxes. Its behind the passenger seat, and there's also a compartment in the middle of the rear console.

Someone needs to make a cf or fiberglass removable hardtop. Like the early Miatas had. That would be cool.

Never leave anything in sight - not even an empty fast food bag. The slime ball druggies will bust in just to see if there's any cold french fries left in the bag.

When I go out I always leave my windows down, that way they can just open the door, I dont want my top sliced, and I never leave anything valuable in it.

Last year left the top down had dinner was driving home and noticed that while parked with the top down someone had thrown an empty beer can on the floor of the passengers side, I was pissed, I could not imagine having to explain that to a cop had I been pulled over.

Some cost $1,440.00 with this # 97150-CE40A and some cost $1,700.00, #97150-CF40A.
Don't you have auto insurance? Maybe your house insurance may cover some of the other stuff.

Sorry to hear that, man. I know someone who never locked their convertible so the top wouldn't get sliced. And one day, someone sliced the top to break in, didn't even try the doors first.

+1000 on keeping absolutely NOTHING in plain sight. I've been broken into before with nothing in view (pickup truck), and it really sucks. I hope your insurance can take care of things for you.

I just had my 2004 top replaced at the dealership. 1,900 for the top and 450.00 installation. Insurance covered the whole thing. I know I could have done better and pocketed some of the insurance money but I went ahead and let the dealer handle it.
