Default 2007 Roadster whistle

My wife just turned in her 2004 roadster and purchased a 2007 Touring Roadster. We've noticed that when we reach speeds above 55 MPH (with the top DOWN), there is a wind whistle on the driver's side. Don't hear anything on the passenger side.

Her 2004 never made this sound. When the top is up, no whistle at all. Has anyone else experienced this?

Default Have 2006 Roadster - yeah I here it too....

Don't know exactly what it is. I suspect it's the mirror. Have a clearbra piece on the mirror and it seemed to have made it a little louder. However, it's something that I've learned to igore and don't notice, (especially when I'm cruising down some beautiful, curvy, mountain road!)

Interesting. My wife's new 2007 had a clear bra on the mirrors. In fact, I just mentioned your reply to my wife and she said she thinks it's coming from the mirror.

I have to take the car in tomorrow to get the clear bra put on the front bumper. I'm going to tell the guy to look at the mirror and maybe re-apply the mirror bra.

I'll keep you posted.

Yeah. I'll like to know if a better application or something will change it. Let me know what you find.

Well, I had the clear bra on the mirror redone. The whistle is gone. So, I suspect that there was an air pocket in the original application that was causing the whistle. You might want to see if you can get your reapplied.

Wow! That's good and bad news for me. First, glad that you got that solved and that there was a solution. The bad news is that I've had my clearbra on my mirrors for awhile now and I know there are no air pockets/bubbles currently. But, this does mean that maybe another installation on the mirror would eliminate the problem. Thanks for the response MarkY and enjoy your Z!!!! BTW - when you get some miles on your '07 start a post to let everyone know the plusses and hopefully no minuses of your ZR.

Thanks ZPHILE. Hope you get yours worked out. I'd try and get it reapplied, nothing to lose. BTW, it is my wife's Z. I don't get much drive time.
