Default Roadster Roll bar anyone?

I have tried to search the threads on this but could not find anyone that has a Roll bar set up for there Roadster.

Has anyone made one or know where i can get one? I would like something that can be bolted in and out for track days.

Pics would be nice of course.

^That won't fly for a DD. You'll lose your Vert Top. It is sweet though.

Oh not really track certified. You can't have it both ways. Bolt in and track certified.

Thanks for the idea's and pics. Bam Bam has one bad AZZ car. Something to aspire to. I was sooooo close to going to Forged for my car mods and still might if I ever go for the built eng. No use going for too much power though if I can't take it to the track and run WOT. Might just have to let off for now but that's hard to judge without experience and I'm a newbe at this drag or track stuff.

Still looking for thoughts here on how this can be done without making a mess of the looks and keeping the functional top.

There must be guys running at less than 13.49 ET with a roadster. How are they getting around the rules?

So many stock OEM roadsters out there these days that can break the 13.49ET stock, Porsche, Vett, etc.. you would think this ET rule would drop to maybe 12 sec range?

All this is making me think I should have bought the coupe but FI was not considered at the time. This forum and a Car meet hooked me in.

i'd love to get one but a few things worry me. the space behind the seats and the actuation that the top does. panels get opened and closed. it'd be a very wierd looking set up if it works.

+1 for it

To help clear up where I was coming from,
First there must be 350Z roadsters With FI running under 13.49 so how do they run at the track given the rules? Do they have roll bars or does the track or dragstrip let them run without and how do they get arround the rules? Do the hoops behind the seats pass as roll bars and if they do can i get more info on this?

Second and I just post this as an open question. If there are stock covertable cars out there that can run under 13.49 on the open roads why is the track limit of 13.49 so high?
There are Other stock convertables (roadsters?) like Vetts and Porsche that can run under 13.49, I dont have time slips but just going by what i see at the back of R&T mag. etc... Like the Boxter S is 13.4, The new Corvette coupe runs ~12.8 so the convertable must be close maybe 13.1? How about the Lambo spyder Gallardo at 12.1? Porsche carrera convertable times?

Over all still looking for a way to take it to the track rather than the streets and I was really surprised to see a 13.49et limit for converatbles without a roll bar but i guess they have there reasons like my safety lol.

FI yes, but you said stock. Yes the hoops behind the seats are for rollovers. You should study the drag section and see how many roadsters are in the top 25. Also check your post over there for any replies. The Roadster is a heavy car. Good luck, amigo. Get ready to spend some cash.

Zzerotosixty,
I will check if i can pass with the role hoops.

Do you drag your car and what kind of things should |I expect to run into for the cash side of things besides the obvious, entry fee, lunch, tires? Do you have ET under 13.49?

thanks

A few trips to the track. 13.313@107.35mph You need FI and a lot more. Just go to the track and and bring your helmet. Tech has never mentioned anything about a rollbar to me.

Helmet required for droptop at any speed. Is your track NHRA or IHRA? IHRA is a bit more lenient. At best you'll probably get mid 14s n/a.

Yea im close to under 14s I have looked into fabbing something connecting something between the humps behind the seats. Seems like it would be more trouble then what its worth though. There just isnt enough rooms back there.

Hope to get my car back today
