oh and the back window on the soft top i dont think it can be tinted with regular window tint i think its a spray
If you get a good quality tint it shouldn't peel or flake no matter what the circumstances. And if it does, most good quality tints have a liftetime warantee (they'll redo the tint for free).

The back window uses the same material as the sides.

I have tint on the two side windows and the back window (not the wind deflector). I think my back window is 20% or more, since I can barely see out through it (using the mirror) with the top up. I would imagine that if you had both the back window and the wind deflector tinted, it would be completely blocked.

From what I've seen, most people leave the windows up with the top down. It helps direct air flow a little better. With the windows down, the air seems to hit you straight in the face, similar to a motorcycle without a wind deflector shield. When you're doing 80+ MPH, it can get annoying pretty quick.

Putting the windows up seems to resolve this issue, and actually (for me, at least) makes the whole top down experience much better.

Riding with the top DOWN and windows UP is strictly for Sebring and other SEDAN drivers. If you do this in a sports car vert you must relinquish your Man Card.

LOL! The only time I keep the windows up is on long rides 2 hours + (otherwise my ears start to ring from the db level).

My wife knows the deal ... If the Sun is Up, the top is Down (windows down is a given).

She usually wears a hat or some sort of head band to keep her hair in place.

I also had a strip done across the top of the windscreen, really helps cut the glare when driving. Its about 6" wide I suppose and is the same tint as the side windows.

If this is true... Then I've proven this on several different cars. I tint windows (let a shop do the Z tho) and I have a tool that trims it just about even with the window. No problems at all with peeling or flaking. I use Llumar tint and that is what the shop used on my Z.

i didnt have my z when i posted this but you are correct the back window is actually glass and its not the quality of the tint.. its the tight fitment and all tint scratches (if you bump you key into your window it might scratch...) but i wouldnt get anything other than 3m.. and you need the 1/4 in gap so when the window rolls up in doesnt rub... tint adds a tiny bit of width but you also have to think that it was air tight before and adding more would cause it to rub and then peel.. ive put on tint and i have had it put on by certived techs its not very hard you just have to do it a couple of times. but you do want the little gap

I just had 20% installed, 35% is legal limit in Washington. Owner has put a few 20 and 15% on law officers personal cars. Police told him that if pulled over, roll down window before officer arrives, they want to know if your a threat.I had four windows done including small wind stop, no problem with it installed on defrost back window as well.I went with a upgrated Graystone film, it's a thinner product with less possibility of bubbles and imperfections.
