Default Save your top by leaving doors unlocked?

Would you say it's smart or stupid to leave your roadster's door's purposefully unlocked and storage bins open to avoid having your expensive top cut?

I could see this being problematic for those with aftermarket goodies inside, but for a stock Z....would this be something to consider?

I mean if they were going to steal the car...they're going to steal the car locked or not. saves me a broken window and slashed top...

thoughts?

Stupid
If stolen, isnt that what insurance is for! I park in a area where I hopefully won't get a door ding, but not hidden out of the way for easy theft. If stolen it will probably be parted out anyway, or go on a joy ride and possibly be trashed.

Interesting idea. Might make access too easy though - no tools required.
Dunno, but I probably wouldn't do it.

i'll take my chances with the locked doors. what's the point of them cutting the top? it'll take the thief alot longer to climb in and unlock the doors ...etc...

if i was a thief, i wouldn't bother with a roadster...too much hassle...

if i was to vandalize one, then i'd just cut up the top

Lock it - you wouldn't want some tool going through your car to see if there really is something valuable in your car. Although if you leave it unlocked for an extended period of time the alarm will still arm itself...

Stupid.
If the doors are open that means that the alarm and kill switch is not armed... I rather get the top broken than the car stolen... And if someone is going to steal it then I will make it difficult for them to do so. The thief needs to earn it if he wants it...

That could cause problems with your carrier if the car is actually stolen. I had an incident where my carrier would not cover my stolen car because when it was recovered there was no visible forced entry.
