The rules will specifically depend on what organization you are out there running with. In my case, the SCCA seems like a quality National Organization, with mature and well-defined specifications. I can't claim the expertise to specifically answer your question, but you can get a much better idea by looking at the following link:

I was bumped up specifically [they said] becasue of my UR Underdrive pulleys and Injen Cold Air Intake. They didn't seem to care about my aftermarket 19" Volk GTS rims which are 8.5" wide in front and 10.5" in the rear. I have the stock brake kit on.

Great! Get out there and AutoX her!
Technically if the car did not come with Brembo's stock in that particular model for that particular year, then adding them afterwards would take you out of stock class. I believe it would put you in a prepared class.
Race rims are fine for stock classes so long as they are the same width, size and offset as stock rims. You can also run R compound tires on stock sized light weight race rims, and that is a huge advantage by itself. The SCCA rules do not specify the weight of the rim....again another advantage.

I'm not tall at all.... 5'7".
However, because of my back I have to keep the seat back leaned forward at a pretty severe angle. Its the only way I can drive
I agree....the seat looks pretty funky from that angle, but it works for me
I had SCCA Chicago Event #1 last Sunday - what a friggin blast!
Get out there with your Roadsters people!!
It sucked that it was raining and snowing and sleeting on the way there, made for slick as hell course in the morning runs, but things dried up nice for the afternoon. I didn't place nearly as well as I wanted, but in my afternoon runs I sliced 2 seconds off the first run, and two more seconds off from the second one - which is exactly what I wanted: no cone fouls [clean run] and progressively better times!
There was one other Roadster there [blue Z from Forida - Justin, you out here bro?], and even though it was cold as hell, we had to run the course topless, unlike most of the other 'verts of other species there.
No 'action photos' of me on course [hard to take pics of me driving, while I am driving...], but here is one of us waiting our turn:

My car did great! I took over 3 seconds off my lowest time from the previous month. I added a set of BF Goodrich KDW2's to the front (already had two on the rear) and it made a huge difference. These are really great tires. Not exactly quiet tires, but that's not why I bought 'em.
I believe I beat or equaled the top time in BSP. They haven't posted times yet from the last meeting. I was 2 seconds off from top time of the day, which went to a completely gutted and modified camaro with slicks
Not bad for a Stock ,street tired, automatic 350Z roadster.
These cars really handle well. The Nissan boys really did their homework. I'm sure that if one were willing to modify the suspension with stiffer springs, swaybars, and add R compound tires that track times would dramatically improve to say near the stock Corvette Z06 level. However, a Z06 will never ride as sweet as a stock ZR and you'll never enjoy the thrill of 360 degrees worth of fresh air running through your hair in a Z06 either.
Both great cars....just two different missions. Its just nice to know your car can look purdy and still occasionally be a real tire screetching, track burning bat out of hel* when you need it to be. I really do like this car!

Back to the OP, am thinking I might agree with BeachVert regarding wheel size. Sure, the Volks look sweet, but when looking to shave seconds off a run, the 18" rims with some adequate sticky tires might be the proper ticket to speed and control. For me, this season is about learning and seat-time towards experience with my car as it drives on the street. If I can get my act together, a reconfiguration for next year MAY be on the agenda.

I love those wheels too SpenZe! Are they 18 or 19"?
I'm looking into getting some nice looking rims possibly 19" and keeping my stocker 18's for track use with some R compound tires. The only thing that worries me is how much the ride will degrade with 19's...I love the ride/handling with the 18" stockers....and I'd hate to lose much of that.
Also, what kind of pressures are you running? I've found that I get my best times with nearly stock pressures. I run 34 in the front and 35 in the rear. After each run I mark down the pressures showing on the TPMS. Usually by the end of a good run the pressures will be between 37 and 38. Any higher pressures at the end of the run seem to correspond with me doing lots of "fun" sliding, but losing time overall.
During the course of the day I continually bleed off air to keep the pressures at 34/35.

Exactly.
Just went AutoX today, But did not take the Z ( still need big brakes) As soon I get them I will try to see which one I like better, or is faster on the track. My Mini S with stock run flats tires my best time was 57 sec.
