Got an 04 roadster this weekend..
and i freaking love it.. it is truly an amazing piece of machinery =]
just showing some love for the Z community.
and all you guys with modded cars, what would be the first thing you would do to it, with below average to minimal knowledge of car engines and a modest budget?
Thanks a lot =]

welcome.
here's a top 100 questions sticky thread in this sub-forum: https://my350z.com/forum/2003-2009-nissan-350z/197329-the-top-100-common-questions.html
Personally, I would start with breathing mods: plenum spacer, intake, exhaust. Then you can move on to more expensive toys for your ZR.
Good luck!

Congrats....
I'd probably go with wheels, suspension, sway bars and then exhaust & intake... I wouldn't bother with the rest as it will only give you min. gains performance wise...
If you want performance you'll have to supercharge or turbo your Z..

I agree. A true tuner would take care of the handling first. Myself, I would go BBK after the handling mods, then go with the simple mods (like exhaust, intake, etc). It maybe over kill for the stock whp, but stopping quick is more important than having more hp.
After all the tiny tidbits, go FI for more whp.
Or go a little cheaper...put a bunch of stickers on the car, it will give you more HP.

If you don't plan on tracking the car and want to do a little modding, I would do an exhaust first. I only have a drop in K&N, but will be getting an exhaust in mid may. After that I plan on doing a MD Spacer.
If you looks are more your thing I would do some new wheels. I think the Z looks great the way it is.
If track is your thing do the suspension and handling mods first. Then go for F/I if you want the big boost in performance.
All depends on your budget and the direction you want to take the car.
Bolt on gains will be minimal but they do add up.
