you know what's funny, neither of the dealers that you spoke with had any idea about that cable. Their solution of course was to charge you more money.

Yes I was thinking that myself, two seperate dealers, actually three seperate 'Nissan Qualified Mechanics' and not one of them knew how to get into the trunk - 3 more reasons not to buy a GT-R. Can you imagine spending $80k on a car then taking it in for these people to work on

yea, I'm losing more and more trust in stealerships...its to the point its scary!!! Mine doesnt know what a rear axle click sounds like so they wont do the TSB "oh thats something else". I think part of it is that they dont typicly see a lot of Z's... and also due to mental retardation.

I am shocked that they couldnt tell you about the trunk release...I'm SURE its in the manual, it is on my coupe for the hatch release.

Over 2 year old thread!
It cubby not chubby.
The cubby is normally where your Navigation system would be...on your dash!!!!!!

im pretty sure the little trunk release button unlocks the trunk so you can use the outside popper thing... haven't had the car running in a while so idk (haven't had the rear release for a while either)

Even though this was an old thread, it was very dramatic. It was almost like reading about a child stuck in a well. I am just glad the OP got his car home safely. I am going to find this little wire, lever thing when I get home.
