Default New brake pads on.

This last weekend with the help of a buddy we put on new Hawk HPS front and rear pads. The fronts had plenty of meat but the rears needed to be changed so I just did them all.

I noticed that they do not have a huge initial grab, it is very smooth at first. But once you apply a little more pressure they really grab! They are quiet and haven't noticed much if any dust yet. I will get a real idea over the next month of driving.

I would reccomend these for anyone looking for a good set of replacement pads. Even better I got them on ebay front and rear for around 30.00! A guy sold his Z and never put them on they were still in the plastic wrapper.

Even if you guys dont' need them now keep your eye out for deals like that to have back ups on hand.

I've heard great things about the Hawk's. When I get my brakes done I'll probably go that way.
Sounds like you got a great deal.

Hawk HPS is a good everyday pad. You should/should of considered resurfacing the rotors before putting in new pads. Be sure to bed them in properly also.

I have the Hawks on the front brakes. I really like the low brake dust. They do have just slightly less grip, which after a short period of time you don't even notice. I just had my rears replaced while at the dealer getting my airbag module replaced, so kept with the stock ones there. Since brake dust isn't an issue on the rears I figured a little more grip back there can't hurt.

Wow good deal on the pads man, I put fronts on mine about a week ago. I agree they do not have the same initial bite the stockers do but quickly catch up. My rims are still dirty as hell from the old pads so i can't comment on the brake dust part. Overall I am very pleased with these and the price is great.

Its good to hear that they gotten a good review from others on here. My rotors were in great shape so we didn't do anything with them. We did go through the break in procedure that was reccommended.

I think this would be a great reasonably priced pad for anyone needing them. Glad to hear to that the dust is low like the company says they should be.

Default Brake Dust?

I guess it depends on what you are used to....I think the Stock pads are low dust. Then again - for years I had a variety of MB and BMW vehicles - the front wheels would almost turn black in a weeks time due to the brake pad dust!

I will keep the Hawk's in mind if I ever get to replacing my pads - thanks for the tip!
