what is the revup motor?
As the title says, I have searched and searched and could not find anything on it. Anyone know details of what it is and what years of cars it comes on?

There are 3 different motors in the 350Z
- 03-05 & 06 autos: VQ35DE (non-revup)
---6600 RPM redline
---287 hp
---274 tq
- 05 Anniv & 06 manuals: VQ35DE (revup)
---7000 RPM redline
---300 hp
---260 tq
- 07-08: VQ35HR
---306 hp
---268 tq
There are other minor differences and attributes that are unique to each motor. Also, keep in mind that the SAE rating was updated for the HR engines.

i have to disagree with you.. first of all anytime someone has a problem they complain.. but when they dont have a problem, they dont get online and post all day about their car being perfect.. pretty much yea theres been people complain, but i assure you theres more people without issues here that just dont mention it than there are with issues.. it just doesnt get mentioned..idk how this issue happened with nissan BUT you cant associate all 06 motors as bad since they all arent...until tested its under speculation for each motor..besides.. its a nissan, did u expect this car to be flawless.. LOL

Yes, unless its the 05 35th anniversary edition
Also, there is a TSB issued which includes all rev up engines between a large range of VIN numbers.
Some people don't check their own oil too. The dealer is not going to tell them their car sucks and have to do the warranty work, but now, in tough times, they're scrambling to get what they can.
