Default Decided to keep my 2005 ZR Touring, what do you think?

I have a 2005 leased ZR black on orange MT. I have to turn it in May 21 as the last day for the lease contract. It now has 15k miles on the dial, no mods except for some 18" Ruff Racing rims.

I spent all of the last two weeks going to see the new 370Z and finally got to test drive one. I liked the power and the feel is just as strong in the handling if not better. The sync rev MT gave a funny shake to the clutch pedal. But the car is awesome. I didn't like the seats; the seat material is ok but the seats themselves feel weaker than my current ones. Movement from side to side in the back was very apparent even sitting still. The interior is tighter but I think that the fact that it something new is the only reason it catches my attention, cause I really like the tire pressure gauges on mine. And I do not like the metallic fuel gauge in the cluster, but YMMV.

So I decided to buy my 05 and keep it for about 3 or 4 years more cause of the low mileage (haven't bought it yet). Maybe mod it up a little and wait for the second or third gen 370z roadster.

Any opinions on this, whether positive or negative.

Thanks

What does the above mean? Just curious. BTW - I agree with your decision on the two. I think the 370Z is a great next step. But, just think what's in store a few iterations in the future. The 350Z is a great car and will hold it's own cosmetically and performance wise for quite awhile. Also, have you seen the new 370ZR? It's different - think I like it some. Like my ZR better though.

A low mileage rental sounds good to me.

I have the seats that have the mesh in the middle. When I drive my Z hard the seats hold me in place like a glove. No movement from the back whatsoever.

When I drove the 370 the seat back gave way from side to side in the corners. (There was movement) the seat didn't feel as comfortable either the low setting I usually like to keep it.

I don't know if it's because my seats are a different style or cause I have less space behind them cause I have a ZR versus the coupe which has more space to recline.

But I could def tell there's more of a flimsy feeling.

As far as the new ZR I like it. just think I will wait couple of years not to get the first gen. And I am also thinking of doing the same for now; spending my money on mods instead of the down payment.

Thanks for the feedback.

Keep it - you know where it's been, it still makes you happy. My '05 is still going strong, too.

Best thing you could have done is keep it! I dont like the 370z for the simple fact that its ugly. The bubble headlights with the lame NIKE SWOOSH! edge, same goes for the taillights, front end looks squished, entire rear end(3rd brake light, antenna placement, trunk, etc.) look terrible. They took a beautiful looking car and made it look like an eclipse/saab wannabe.

Default Keep it

You drove a COUPE - but currently have a Roadster - correct? If so - are you crazy?? Keep the ZR - pick up some mods to keep the fun going (exhaust, intake, audio, etc).

Oh - but pick up an extended warrantee

Enjoy

Whats your "buy out" on the lease? Currently the ZR's have lost value dramatically since the 370's are out... i say if you buy out is $20 or more then turn it in and pick up a 370ZR once they are released..... in the mean time you can buy my wifes '04 Altima 3.5 SE with 37K miles and no accidents! good luck with your decision!

You made the right choice. Enjoy the ZR now. see if the 370 looks better with some changes in the next 4 or 5 yrs...
