I'm getting ready to do the same. I haven't picked front speakers yet, but I'm going with this head unit:

Attractive features being blue tooth, navigation capable, and touch screen.

Are you going with one subwoofer or two?

Going with just the one. Just looking for good sound not boom your socks off. Friend at the garage looked at the build and for the pretty much the same price he going to set me up with his version of my build and seal up the sub area.

His build
Pioneer AVH-P4100 H/U
Alpine 600c 6.5 for front door
Alpine 600 for behind the seats
Pioneer Shallow Sub 10" in stock location after sealing it.
Vega v400 4 channel amp for speakers
Vega 500 mono for the sub

I'm considering a similar set up in my car but haven't gone through the process of figuring out prices etc. for the above set up what is your out the door cost with installation?

out the door is 2k. But that also includes car selling option. Meaning if I sell my car they will remove all upgrades and replace them back with the stock sound system.

Are you installing the sub free air or in a box?
The volume behind the stock sub is way to big for a 10" so it will not take much power without reaching max excursion.
Get a box and it will play a lot tighter and less chance of frying the sub.

Don't waste you time on sealing the sub area. Alot of people have tried and few have made it work. I would stick with the magic box (this so far looks like one of the best setups for that area). As for the infinity...will those fit the front door? They aren't too deep? I LOVE infinity, had them in a dakota in college and that thing was LOUD and clear. I wanted to go this route again, but couldn't get any for the front doors. I may be wrong though.

subbed. I'm considering swapping out my Blose as well. Bet the wiring will be extreme difficult for a DIYer...

The Infinity Kappa Five output is 75 watts RMS x 4 + 300 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms. The Infinity 6022si speakers are rated at 60 watts RMS @ 2 ohms. Can the amp hurt those speakers by putting out too much power it can handle?

I'm doing a similar setup on my car, replacing front + rear speakers with Reference 6022si along with the Kappa Five. Anyone know more about this, thanks for the chime in

No, not if you properly tune the speakers. The amp will only put out full power if the gain is at 100% and the volume is turned up. Just keep the gain down, and make sure you don't turn the volume up high enough to create distortion.
