Default New to me.......350Z

Hello all, First post here, hope not to be the last.
Well after waiting and waiting, I decided to just up and get me a new ( to me )
toy, I had search high and low, Dealers are all on crack, So I took and check every Craigslist and E bay listing for the last 6 weeks,'
Found one that did not get sold in 2 E bay trys.
Talk to the owner and seemed to be a down to earth guy, Had the cars Vin check through a buddy at Nissan, Zero came up as far as issues. Clean car fax,
The owner promised me a ticket home if I was not happy, Needless to say, I was happy
So I found My Roadster , Pearl white, With the Light seats, with 12500.00 miles
I felt I payed a bit higher than I should have ( $21K ) But what the hell......
Will be posting more piks. and hope to be involved in the new Z world here.....
Thanks all.........

12500.00 miles is just broken in. Looks very clean. Good choice.

Congrats! Very nice ZR.

I'm not sure what part of Illinois you are from, but check out the Windy City Z Club if it's in your area. I was a member there 15+ years ago and they are still a great group.

A couple of tips - get yourself a 303 Vinyl top kit. Does a good job at protecting the top. I believe the website is www.303products.com. I used it for the first time a few weeks ago and it worked very well.

If you can swing an exhaust, I fully recommend the Nismo - sounds awesome top down!

LOL at 'hair I have left' comment!!

Enjoy

First off, welcome.

Second, what part of Illinois?

And last, if you are around the Chicago area, jump on ChicagoZ.com. Great bunch of guys who meet up very often.

You can find 303 products at boating and marine supply stores. I bought my kit at Cabela's in their boating supply section.
Enjoy the Ride.

Their website is not cooperating with me tonight - so I did a quick search. This is the product I bought: http://www.superiorcarcare.net/303vincontop.html

Yes - it is sort-of like scotchguard - only better. The cleaner did a good job - got a white mark off of my top since it was new. The protector then makes it a bit shinier, darker, and repels water. It's also a UV protector, blah, blah, blah. Good stuff - I highly recommend it.

Note - I could not locate this kit at Cabela's or any other place nearby - but that may be unique to my area.

Good luck!

Default and in response to your other question

regarding oiling...

I lightly oil all pivot points. I'm sure it does some good - I mean it must, right? LOL I use whatever I have handy - usually a decent quality silicone spray. If anyone ever finds Primis 'lube gel' (eaaaasy there!), let us know. The manufacturer stopped making it for some reason...

Thumbs up congrats!

Congrats on the roadster I picked up an 05 grand touring with 32000 for 19,000 a few month's ago. I added the jwt popcharger, and will be doing a few other mods soon.

Congrats! I too have just joined the Z fraternity; similar reasons too. Mine's an '05 Grand Touring roadster (Brembo brakes), 20K mi. Put on new tires (Bridgestone RE 960's), rotors (EBC GD's, dimpled/slotted), Axiss ceramic pads. Added a JWT pop-charger, Megan Hi-Flow Cats, Borla TD exhaust and a set of Hella air-horns. Soon's my arm is out of this darn cast, and the rain here in the NE stops, will be out, getting some 'wind in my hair'. Happy motoring! Have fun, stay safe.

Welcome, and enjoy the ZR!

If you spend some time reading all the modifications sections here you will build your own opinion on what you want to do with your Z.

I don't know how picky the law is where you are at but if you can try to stick to CARB and/or DOT approved parts so you don't have to fight tickets all the time.

Happy modding
