Unhappy 2 weeks old. Nail sticking out of the side of tire.

I am so bummed. Went out to wash "Z Baby" started with the tires. Got to the last one and a stupid nail sticking out of the side of the wall.

I drove it to the service station down the street and they said...trashed.

I can't find anything on road hazard in my packet of information.

Dealer not open.

Do you think this will be replaced?

tks

Yah ... I think it'll be replaced ...

... Unfortunately, I think the cost for the replacement is going to have to come out of your pocket.

How did you get a nail in the sidewall?? Is it near the tread at least? I hope someone didn't purposely spike your tire

The service station is right. It is not wise to try and patch damage on the sidewalls of tires. It is time to replace that tire.

As for warrantee coverage, I don't know of any road hazard warrantee, but it couldn't hurt to ask and/or read the documentation that came with the car. You might get lucky.

Thanks for the reply

I have good news I am relieved to let you know that I called Bridgestone today, and I told the guy the nail went in sideways and I wasn't sure how long it was. He told me to do that test, where you put the soapy water on it...shake the nail and see if bubbles form. Well no bubbles...so I pulled it out. It didn't look like it lost any air pressure b4 and it still looks like it's holding air.

I guess I got very lucky on this one!!!

I would have had to pay for another tire and wait until this weekend before it came in.

Leaving for Biketober Festival in Daytona on Tuesday...dying to get more driving time in before I leave!

Tks again

Same here. I had a 3 inch nail that was sticking out of the side wall. But my tire was flat. I had to replace it for $200. Then about 6 months later I was side swiped by a dumb aZZ talking on his cell phone and didn't see his red light. That new tire has some marks on it, but it's still good. Just got back from a 2200 mile road trip and I have tire feathering bad.

My dealer has always been good to me on the issues I bring to them.
