Default Hard Top?

Does anyone know if there is going to be a hard top available for the roadster anytime soon?

Thanks!

I spoke to one of the Z guys at the auto show recently and asked if he knew of any plans for the future Z's. He told me that there might be a hard top convertable in the works. Not sure how "in the know" he was though...so I'd take that quote with extreme caution...and this entire post as useless and a waste of your time...

Honestly I wouldn't bother asking the dealers or "reps" they are usually the last to know anything unless you get an "enthusiast".

Given Nissan had a previously run convertible and no hard top appeared for the 300z, my guess is Nissan won't bother. Try looking on the Japan website, usually if it appears there we MAY get it or some one might be able to import it. When I had my S2000, man I combed Honda's Japenese web site and found that they had made one for the JDM one. A few months later I found a company in the south called MG Racing who were importing S2000 hard tops, and Mr2 hard tops. ( at MSRP +300.00 for shipping) Then a year and a half later dealer were able to get them. So keep searching, even if they do come out, they will be availible --only thing is it will cost you $$$$. The way I figure, Nissan has a coupe, why cut into those sales if they produce a detachable hard top? But I think most owners would purchase them if they were availible and at a decent price ( hint --Honda sold at first for 3200.00+shipping to your door step? dealership, now you can get them online from dealers at about 2000.00)
