Default NAV door question-----????

The recent roadsters I have seen have the "new" nav door which raises up instead of back on the models w/out NAV. Do the Roadsters w/ NAV have the power door like the coupe's?

That depends on the date of manufacture. I just got one that was made in May/June 2003 (number 541 off the production line, you can tell by the VIN) and it had the same door as my 2003 Coupe. However, all other on the showroom floor made after June (VIN 2500 and up) had the new door.

Hum ... well ... that totally sucks for those who want to go after-market with the NAV. If the door just flips up, that would be terrible!! Anyone have any thoughts for a workaround for this?

Thanks in advance!

Default Depends on the After Market

I think if you set the Nav screen closer into the car (away from the pocket) - You should not have any problems seeing it.

You might actually like the cover being more over your screen than in the motorize fully retracting. More sun like blocked.

Just a thought.

Has anyone installed a monitor in their 2004 with the flip up door that does not go into the dash? I am wondering if this is going to be a problem or, as a previous poster stated, a blessing to block the sun.

I'm waiting to see this myself. I like Garmin GPS units but considering the size of the "cubby hole" it's CRYING OUT for a big screen!

the door was $87.67 complete, i too have a 2004 early make and i will be putting the navi door in by the end of this week, my installer at avenue sound is doin the job, he put a screen behind the new navi door to show me what it would look like and might i say WOW, i think it looks so much nicer than the stock setup....well ill keep you posted, oh by the way my installer said the navi door (motorized) is easily installed, because the wire to hook it up to the motor is already there even if you dont have the navi setup.

The Lid on the non-nav 2004 version work good for me, since it block the sun most of the time. Exception when sun is from the back... I would imaging without it in my setup, my LCD would almost be useless durring the day.

Default Aftermarket NAV?

I just picked up my Roadster last week and was thinking of adding an aftermarket NAV setup. I would perfer not to replace my stock audio system as I like the way it all fits so well. What are my options? Who makes the system and where do you get it?

Thanks..

what all do you replace? The door retracts when you turn the key on like nav option?
