Roadster Rims
Like most other roadsters owners, I am planning to replace my stock 17” wheels and tires with new 18”. My priorities are 1) better handling, 2) Decreased weight, 3) cool look 4) staying out of debt! Just wondering what manufacturer/model rims other Roadster owners are looking at? My choices in order of preference are:
Nismo. I like the fact that the sizing, etc is “Nissan Approved”, the look is fairly conservative and they are light. Does any one know if that Nismo decal can be removed?
Stock. Found a local seller offering stock 350z 18” for under $1000 with tires. Certainly not the best looking or lightest but easy on the check book.
iForged Aero RS. Saw these in the forum gallery and think they have a clean and classy look fitting for a roadster. Not sure about weight and quality.
Volk TE37. Seems far and away the most popular Z rim because of weight and quality. They look sweet on a coupe but thinking they may be too “race” for the Roadster.
Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated.

I am also looking to replace the 17" without too much of a hit.
At the Dallas State Fair Auto Show they had the Nismo Roadster and the rims really looked nice!
I'm just not sure I can come up with the $2,000+ (not including tires!).
What are you finding for prices on the Aero RS and the TE37's?

i plan on keeping my 17" tires so that i can save money, and also because i really love the ride as it is and wouldnt want it any rougher. i really like the look of the axis ne-o. however, they only come in 17 x 7 as far as i know... well also 19", but wont work for my plans. i am looking for a similar rim that has a 17 x 7.5 and 17 x 8 option so that i can maintain the oem specs. i havent come across any that fits that description.

I would stay away from the iForged, I have heard numerous problems with the company and the construction of the wheels. Perhaps some of the owners here haven't had any troubles...
What type of wheel are you looking for? 5 spoke, mesh?
I think that the BBS RS-GT would have a nice look or the O.Z. Superleggera III. You may want to check out Kinesis K28, K18 or K19 as well.

Thanks for the info. I prefer a spoke look that isn't too "bling bling". I've taken iForged off the short list based quality concerns. Probably pass on Volk as well -- to much $$ at over 2k. Stock is out because I'd like to put my roadster on a diet.
I can get the complete set of Nismo's for $1850 + S&H. Ready to pull the trigger...
One new option: a set of track wheels. They keep the stock look, are light and can be found for between $1500 and $1800 with tires. They are made by Ray's (Volk) so they seem to be high quality. Oh yea, you also get pressure sensors but it seems our Roadsters don't have the receivers for them. Anyone else thinking about used tracks? Pro’s / Con’s?

I'm actually looking for function + bling so in consideration are the following:
5Zigen Hyper ZR 19" Chrome
RacingHart CX 19" Polished
BC05 19" Polishe/Chrome
Right now...only got hook-ups for the RH's w/shoes, so I may be gonig that route. I love the Zigens but if I can't get a socal hook-up I don't think I can see myself dishing out over 3-dimes.

aestus,
The tracks are not common but you can find them on this board and ebay from time to time. Not sure about the rubber for the Nismo option yet...more research required there too!

G35 Rims
I am going to upgrade my 17s to G36 18 inch rims.
They are not too expensive (used), they fit the stock setup perfectly, and they look cool.
I like em because they have more open space than the stock Z wheels and the spoke are more rounded/organic.
Check out this picture of how they will look on a SS Roadster.

I've found a set of G35 18" wheels complete with Michelin Pilot tires. Got a good deal, but most of all I like the open look. The slightly grey look will go well with my LeMans Sunset, I believe. I'll post a picture once I have them installed.

rims
I have Enkei LM1 18x8 (35mm) Nitto 245/40 front and 18x9 (38mm) Nitto 275/40 rear. Enkei rims, I think weight about the same as OEM 18", are not too expensive.

Just to follow up, I decided to go with the 18" Nismo wrapped with Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's sized 245&275/40/18 . I should have them on in the next few weeks if the travel schedule slows down and will be sure to post some pics.

i really like the ce28n. With all the emphasis on saving on wheel weights on this board, im surprised that not many people have these... they are among the lightest wheels made by rays.
