so i raced a mazda speed 3 completly stock my car is stock as well its a 2006 roadster. we rolled of a 40 and he beat me both times maybe by half a car. i noticed this morning that i had my vdc on i didnt switch it off. could that have made a diffrence??

 

no its not the vdc

you have a roadster which is heavy, you have the DE motor which IMO would lose to a stock ms3, and the ms3 may have had a downpipe which you could not hear with a stock exhaust..

Just stop posting if you don't know. It's 263HP and 280TQ, and some say the car is underrated and has a bit more HP than that. By no means is it a slow car.

One reason MS3's rarely take off from a dig is because they have MONSTER torque steer and can't hook up. Power to weight is rediculous

ms3 are somewhat fast... too bad it's a fwd ;( crappy.

 

they run around a 14 in the 1/4 give or take based on driver. That's right around a 350z stock in the quarter, give or take driver, trans, weight.

If he's manual and you are auto then he's going to be faster, it also depends on what gear you selected for the roll verses what he selected.

from a roll is pointless. There isn't a sport from a roll.....only people that can't launch want to run from a roll.

This is the type of car bashing that makes enthusiasts look like d bags.
The speed 3 is a very impressive car in many ways. Ive had the pleasure of riding in a speed 3 with mild mods and it pushed me into the seat harder than any NA z ive ridden in.

 

Mazda speed 3 and 6 are very nice cars with nice interiors and performance to match I never understood why they're not more popular. Turbo, awd, very cumfy and quick as hell
