A/C failed

A/C failed
So I'm driving down the freeway and I smell this funny smell, I think it's not me, then I see smoke comming out from the vent on my hood and start to panic. I check my gauges, everything looks OK, car runs fine engine cool good oil pressure. I park pop the hood and see what I first thought was coolant (green) dripping in the area of the coolant into the thermostat but no steam. Checking further I realize it's A/C oil with green leak detector.
I think the seal blew on the compressor but it's going to be a PITA to fix.

Found the problem, the A/C belt failed and half of it came loose and whipped the tar out of the compressor discharge hose till it tore thru. What pisses me off is I KNEW my belts needed changing and HAD a set ready with new tensioners and just kept putting it off, either it was raining or the weather was too nice to be working on the car. Well now the belts are new and the tensioners, I think I can cut the A/C hose and clamp it with a piece of tubing as to replace it I think I'd have to change the condenser.
Rule 1: don't put off changing belts, they're cheap, easy and quick to change.
