Default Adding an aftermarket glovebox

I was pondering our lack of glovebox.

Does anyone know if there is room for a glove box in front of the passenger? I am guessing there is since this is where the steering wheel goes in the RHD version.

If so, I wonder if there is a glovebox available somewhere that could be added. It could be as simple as cutting that panel and inserting the glove box frame.

If anyone wants to make such a thing I would buy it!

I may explore this some time. I really miss having an easy access glovebox. With the rollbar and the electric (slow) seats, all of the current storage is a PITA except the TINY center console.

The two small boxes behind the seats (accessible without moving the seats forward) aren't enough, huh?

nope.

1st problem: I am 6'2" and my seat is ALL the way back.

2nd problem: The roadster cross bar sort of blocks those boxes.

So, to get in to the little box behind the passenger I need to nearly dislocate my shoulder.

To get to the one behind my seat I have to get out of the car!

To get to the large one behind the passenger I need to move the S-L-O-W electric seat.

the only storage I have that I can really use while driving is the one under my elbow.

Don;t get me wrong, I like the cubbies. I was just thinking that if there was some un-tapped space under the dash in front of the passenger I would like to utilize it.

i never looked under the dash of the passenger side, but i am not sure how much room the passenger air bag takes. i guess i will have to take a look. it would have to be a really professional install otherwise it will look really cheapy with the cut edges and it is in a really obvious place. i am a bit aprehensive about chopping up my $38k car, but i agree a glove box in the front would be great. maybe one from the g35 coupe? i dont know.

you really don't have room to put a glove box in the passenger area. I mean you could, but all you would be able to hold are papers. There's a reason why theres no glovebox there in the first place. if there was useable room, then Nissan would've put it there instead of the back.
