Okay so ive had an ongoing issue with a dealer fing up my car (not roof related just comming back with scratches etc...), im not gonna name them yet, but my roof is supposed to be serviced with them, sometimes my roof doesnt fold down properly when its below 10celcius, owners manual says dont open 0celcius or below....

anyways, ive had elastics changed, that didnt solve the problem...
they lubed everything up problem came back... now my roof is starting to tear and they got it approved to fix the problem....

here is the catch, they are only replacing the vinyl..... i dont think im gonna let them do that as this will not solve anything and will just reappear after my warranty runs out... is it to far fetched that i think they should be replacing the mechanism? which is putting a tear in my roof?????!!!! and not just the vinyl which will tear again most likely down the road?


just looking for some input from anyone thats actually got the mechanism replaced or input on how i should proceed..

my cars is 08 19kmiles well within warranty

 

when they replace a part under warranty it extends the warranty of that item, just make sure you keep the invoice for it.

 

yea i asked them that, the dealer is so retarded, he told me it doesnt :/

 

take it to another dealer.

 

well they are fixing it, and they told me the warranty is 1 year 20k kms which is less then my remaining factory, i guess if it rips again i have grounds to replace the whole assembly.... i dont think i could get the whole assembly approved right now.... the replacement roof is 13000$ :/ vs 2500$ for just the skin hopefully theyu fix the problem :/

 

13,000 for a new roof? Sounds like someone (the dealer) is fudging the numbers. Does that mean an insurance company would total/salvage a roadster if the roof got ruined? We are talking about a Nissan, not a Ferrari. Something doesn't make sense.
