best way to sell a roadster?
I am selling mine, and of course, I posted in the sales forum and craig's list. Just wondering if there is any advice to increase my chances of getting rid of it for a decent price. I am hesitant about ebay, because there would be a pretty chunky fee for such an expensive sale (I think).
Thanks.
Oh, here is the car (it's a 2004 enthusiast, 16.5k miles):

Don't take pictures with the top up. When I am looking for a convertible to buy, I really don't care what it looks like with the top up.
Seriously, go take come nice pictures at the beach.
And don't be in a hurry to sell.
People will take advantage of sellers in a hurry.
It once took me 6 months to sell a car for the price I wanted.
And if it is a hard car to find (Like a Z in any color except for silver) people will be willing to pay more. Use that to your advantage.

Cool, forgot about autotrader-- thanks for the advice!
I have a few pics with the top down, I think I posted them in my sales thread, and craigslist.
Davidv: This is a "how to" post, rather then a "for sale" post-- I think there is a fine line there, but it's still a line. If you have some tips, I'd appreciate hearing them. I have actually never sold a car before.

Top down all the time. Washed and waxed anyplace you go. Put the sign on up when you go in a store. Let friend and coworkers know. Word of mouth is huge. Always be open to offers.. You never know.
Also the most important piece of advice and a lot of people forget this.. Be Nice. People are more relaxed and willing to give their hard earned money to a nice guy vs. a jerk.
One last thing. Honesty is good too. Karma sucks a$$..

It has nothing to do with the color silver. I think it looks great. It just has to do with the fact that most out there are silver and some people want something different than the norm.
No disrespect towards silver Z's, k?
Dude.. Back it up with facts before you start yelln BS out of your mouth.
If you don't know the production numbers with color codes and models than keep it to an opinion and not a fact.

2nd - It doesn't take a rocket scientist to notice that you see 8 silver Z's for every other color
3rd - I do have production numbers (for 03):

Again honesty and being friendly go very far when selling a car. Plus ask yourself what you would like to know about the car you are buying and put yourself the their shoes.

srmd22, let me put it this way -
Orange is a rare color for a Z, somebody looking specifically for an orange Z will have fewer options on the market. Fewer options means less competition for you.
For example - If somebody is looking for an orange Z roadster, and if you have the only orange Z roadster for 500 miles then they don't have much of a choice. They can either pay your asking price or do nothing and hope another one comes along.
Your Z is special - market it that way.
I have bought and sold many special, rare and modified cars. Most of which I sold for MORE than I bought them for.

That's how I sold my last car.
