Default Finished Smoothline Hardtop with PICS!

Here she is all finished finally.

I think overall it looks good. I like it.

Once I got it from FedEx there were a few minor stress cracks near the back window but nothing major.

I don't think it will leak but we will see tomorrow when I give her a quick bath. Seems to be sealed tight. Only spot there is a little light showing through is around the door. You can see in the pic but with the door shut to closed most of that. Maybe I will get just a little strip to fill the hole. This did give me a little wind noise on the freeway when I got up to 70mph. That should go away with a small section of weather stripping I will add when I get a chance.

Here are the pics:

Why is there no rubber gasket or weatherstripping around the rear window?

Or is it just an optical delusion?

Your right there is not but I am guessing the way the glass guy put it in it is sealed. I am going to wash her off tomorrow so I will see if there are any leaks.

I never liked the roadster with the top up. This changes everything.

Where's the slight issue with sealing?

Would you consider it more quiet than with just the soft top?

Total cost after purchase and paint?

I hate that that looks so good because now I really want it! Thanks for the pics and the updates! It looks really good!

I think it will be more quite when I get that small hole sealed. It is up by the seatbelt. Where the back of the door closes. It was quite until I got on the highway at 70mph. Then I could hear the wind from the hole.

I am right at 2500 - 2600 in the top.

Looks good mayne. Hope it doesn't leak. Take pix of how the front clips on.

It does not latch or clip on the front. It kind of molds around the windshield. It fits over and then comes under inside the car. Hard to explain but here are some pics.

So what's to keep the front from shifting or moving about?

Is the fit that tight that it doesn't move about during spirited driving?

The front fits really tight. It won't move.

Excellent. I'm definitely considering one now. Did it fit right first time?

Does it latch at 3 places in the back?

It fit without bodywork. It latches on each side by the retractable door by the seatbelt and one in the back.

Wow, that actually looks pretty good. I'm not sure about how it "attaches" to the front without any sort of fastening device, though. Also, if there's no weather strip between the rear window and the hardtop, wouldn't all kind of gunk get stuck in between them over time?
