Default How to replace the elastic straps?

Do you really have to drill the old rivets out and hammer in new ones? Anyone have a diy?

Yup. Drill them out. You don't hammer in new ones, you use a rivet gun.

I wasn't able to find straps just by themselves online. Maybe check convertible top shops and ask if they sell them. But $48 sounds like what you would pay anyways.

Got some straps but my drill is too big to fit into the small space to drill it evenly. Any advice besides getting a new drill

Either new drill(easy) or remover the soft top from the frame.

Have you tried opening and closing the top to see if you have a better angle with the drill? Only other possibility that might work. Other than that yes, new drill or take the top off partially.

I had my top replaced and when they drilled out the rivets for the elastic straps I think the old rivets went inside the bar. Is there any way to get the old rivets out of there?

One of the metal bars has plastic caps on them. Pry them off and blow some air in. However the second bar doesn't have a plastic caps. Not sure how to get those rivets out.
