Creaks in the Top when it is up
I have noticed that whenever my top is up every time I drive over a bump I get huge creaks on the driver's side of the top, but not the passenger side. Anyone else have this? What would be your recommendation.
As it is only on one side, the big question is, what to do about it.
I am still waiting to get my top replaced since there is a hole in it, but they are only replacing the fabric and the affected metal that caused it. I think i need a new top.

There are two places to look for creaks.
1st I would look at all the folding points in the top. I would just drip a LITTLE lube on each hinge point. Use something thin that will penetrate. Don't get any lube on the fabric.
2nd could the creak be coming from where the rubber gasket under the top sits on the body? I had a small creak there when it was cold outside. I just raised the back of the top, cleaned the rubber gasket and the mating surface, and then lowered the top again. Fixed it for me.

I have a "tick" in the top on the left side just above my head. If I push up on the crossmember that runs over the top of my head it will tick. I found that if I put a bit of lubricant on the end of that crossmember where it sits against the frame that goes over the door the problem goes away for a couple of days. It is driving me crazy. WD-40 works best, lithium grease worst.
I also have holes in my top 3 of them to be exact. I need to get the top replaced.

Got my to replaced finally. Definetly quieter - no more holes. Actually I think it creaks less, but it might need some breakin time.
