Default Sun visor clip removal

Does anyone know how to remove the paneling that hold the sun visor on the roadster?

The clip that hold the sun visor steady broke so the plastic piece that held it on the other side is stuck and rattles when I drive. A new clip is like $5, not a big deal but I want to get that broken plastic part out. Rattling is bugging me. Thanks.

Mine broke also. I haven't ordered the part. I figured it would be $30 and not $5. I thought I remembered seeing allen head type screws. I don't know for sure but it looked like the metal strip above the windshield where it meets the top comes off.

Happened to me as well. Luckily, I was able to get some needle nose pliers and got it out of there. I didn't even want to think about how to get it out otherwise. Good luck if you are unable to do so with pliers.

Went to the Nissan dealer and ordered it for about $8. Waiting for it to get in.

Best of luck. Mine snapped as well. I fished it over with a paperclip and needle nose pliered it out. I'd try this route first. I spent less than 2 minutes getting the old out and snapping the new in.

Thanks guys. I think it's just easier getting at it with needle nose pliers and breaking it off. I was able remove the plastic part, where the lights and latch are, but in doing so I broke the other clip, haha. Lesson learned.

Also I figured out that it wasn't that loose plastic part that was rattling. It was the plastic part that the clip connects to (so the tube shaped plastic part on the visor).

You can find the part on e-bay for $5 to $10 bucks. I'll see if I find the part on some 350Z part shop and if I do I'll share the cost.

This is the part number and description:

Description: 350Z HOLDER-SUNVISOR

Here are instructions on how to remove the clip in case you need it. I copied it from some website.

"Easy to install. To remove old retainer insert a small flat head screwdriver into the slot to depress tab and rotate retainer 90 degrees. When you have the new retainer in your hand you can look at it to see what I mean if your not sure how to remove the old one. It's very simple."

Hope the info helps. I know its not a big deal but at the same time its annoying to hear the rattle.

Same thing happened to me yesterday. I pulled the visor out towards me, like I have before, and used the mirror for a sec. Put the visor back. When I went to park, I noticed the visor was askew. Upon looking closer, the whole damn clip was still attached to the visor. Nothing but a bare hole in the windshield header.

So, I remove the visor clip from the visor and stow it in the cup holder. Not sure where it's mate went. Later on that day, after driving a while, I move the visor aside and see the clip's mate poking out from the hole. I grabbed it and set it aside.

After reading how easy it should be to install another clip, should I order from the dealer? Courtesy parts? Order a couple, just in case this happens again?

Thanks,
Ryan
