anyone else regret getting a ZR?
man ive had my car for about 6 months and i seem to regret it more and more everyday....
i mean i like the car but the car just looks so weird with the top up, i would like to slam and put an aggressive set up on her but when i see the top up i just lose all hope.
anyone else feel this way?

I think it helps the look of the car. (I am also not a fan of the softop).

blasphemy!
All jokes aside, I love mine. Purchased a brand new 2007 and have yet to hate writing a check, and it's paid off in August so I'll only love it more.

Sometimes I too think the hard top looks better but not by much. I go back and forth on that. It all depends on how often you drop the top and if you track the car. The convertible weighs more and the chassis is not as rigid. I personally will not buy a car unless you can pop the top. I'm in Houston so the top is down almost year round and I have never taken it to the track. The feeling you have will only get worse if you begin to have issues with the top. The 350 is to nice of a car for you to feel regret in buying it. I say get the hard top let us roadster guys enjoy our wind, road, and exhaust sounds. But whatever you do, do not get an automatic.

not gonna lie that hard top does actually help a little bit.
man i live in the crappy state of orergon..... the sun comes out about 10% of the year and it rains about 95% of the year.
believe it or not we have actually gotten a little bit of snow rain mix the past few days.
oh and the top doesnt wanna close sometimes =( makes me regret it lol
but im always in between liking it and hating it. i still like the car regardless.

Not once. I absolutely love my ZR. With that being said, I live in San Diego and it almost never rains here.
I think the car looks horrible with the top up and I always drive it with the top down (which I think the top down look is much better than the standard Z look). I just keep mine in the garage when it's raining.

I agree with you. Some cars just don't make the conversion to a convert. The 350 is one of them.Why?---the design of the 350 just flows. The roof line, slanting back to the rear hatch is a great profile. It makes the car.Nissan said, the public wants a roadster. We
gotta do one.The results, given what they had to work with is pretty bad.The problem is the sides of the top. They need to be at a greater angle.Possibly,"wings" added like
what was done on the Pontiac Solstice would work.BMW also has this type of setup
on their 6 series. The hardtop is a improvement. However, the roof angle still needs
to have more slant. The 370 roadster top is improved in the side design...more angle at the sides.Unfortunately you are correct.Due to the mismatch of the top to the design of the car,IMO excess body mods just don't work. You got to keep it very subtle.
I have seen some ZRS that look pretty good. The color is a factor.White works well on the roadster. Also, red is classic.Black with a black top, subtle skirts&lip...gunmetal
rims looks great.
Design is not understood by everyone. When someone pens a timeless design like the 350z,
any drastic change to the design(like the top)really screws it up.For example, lookat the my350z logo. What do you see?The distinctive Z profile. Its funny that some designs are actually improved when a convertible is offered. The new Camero IMO,looks better as a convertible.
Same goes for the VW (new-now old)Beetle.
Good luck.
You have got a challenge to do some mods that will make that top look better.

The top is the problem
just check this thread out again and you might not lose hope

All the lowering, rims, spoilers etc are not gonna help the top design.

"But whatever you do, do not get an automatic."
Actually if you have a hard top, then yes, an automatic is better. But with a soft top, an auto is perfectly acceptable. Do not confuse the two cars, they are completely different.

Why did you get a convertible in the first place if you can't/won't put your top down??? just wondering...
Texas = Convertible weather.
How to disreguard the shape of your Convertible
1. Put the top down
2. Get yourself a great sounding exhaust (Borla TD sounds amazing... but I'm a bit biased ),
3. Find yourself a tunnel
4. Down shift
5. Change pants
6. Repeat
Tell me you dislike convertible after that.

well when i got the car it was actually what we would call summer over herer so i was like this is what i need....
one month later it was freezing cold outside and then the rain came and then the rain never stopped and i came to reality lol.
i have a manual! manuals are a total win if you ask me.
i will look into a spoiler now and maybe that will help my car flow better with the top up.

I think Nissan pulled off the top design excellently and with the transformer like action it never fails to turn heads how the car looks with the top up is really not that important to me only that it has a top when needed but I think it looks pretty rogue with the top up, reminiscent of the 356. either your a rag top fan or not I guess. this is my third not including rentals
and a/t hate here too, jeez. I got the auto and ordered the paddles too, way cool. transgo eventually then it will be a perfect island runabout 3/4 GT for us.
