TT roadster OR 350Z roadster??????
Really depends on what you are looking for from the car. The Z will not have as refined an interior but will out perform the TT all day long. The Z also has more room inside which I have heard can really be a problem in the TT if you are a taller person.
A friend of mine just got the TT, but he really wanted the Z Roadster. His biggest reason was the Quattro. His wife is a school teacher and either he or she will be using it in the winter. He was whining a bit about the boot that has to be put on when the top goes down. The Z is really slick the way the top works. Also, the TT is a much more common car and the Z has much more glitz to it. It also depend how much power you want, the Z is awesome. Good luck with your decision.

Not sure what engine you're considering on the Audi, but the Z would probably smoke the 1.8L Turbo version of the TT. The TT with a v6 would be a much closer contest, though...
Just one man's $0.02
very lacking in power(a chip can help.... a little)
from what Ive seen, the interior is a bit cluttered and overwhelming. sitting in it, it has a VERY high window, makes you feel very low and cut off... didnt car for that.
and its very much more expensive.
Im in the south so the quattro was a nonfactor.
I had no problems eliminating it in about 3 seconds.

Although I love the idea of a convertable, the Z and the TT look much better as hard tops. The first time I saw a Z roadster with the top up in person it just looked plain goofy. And since you're up there in buffalo I'd imagine much of the year you'll have the top up.. just my $.02
( no offense to any roadster owners )

I wouldn't even consider the TT not only because it placed last in the two reviews cited, but it has a HORRIBLE reliability rating in Consumer Reports. Audi's reliability as whole isn't very good. Japanese made Nissans on the other hand generally do very well.
The only consideration is the snow though... hmm, maybe get a FWD or AWD beater for that?

my friend had a tt roadster (his lease is over now), and i must say that it is an excellent ride (although it does have some annoying quality issues). the performance is pretty damn close to where the z is. i would highly recommend test driving it, and ignore these guys that tell you that it is slower than the z. there is always a faster car, you probably will not feel the difference, and the cornering ability is awesome (i've had some white-knuckle rides with my friend driving). all in all, pick the car that you would be happiest with.
while i'm at it, one important thing to note is that the tt is not really a "quattro" all-wheel-drive vehicle. even though it says quattro right on the car, the awd system is the volkswagen 4motion from its close cousin, the vw golf (they share the same platform). unlike the full time all wheel drive quattro, the 4motion is a part-time four wheel drive (often quoted as a 95% front, 5% rear) with a vc center diff. that is, basically a front wheel drive until there is enough of a differential between them to transfer power to the rears.

the links do not give the performance data nicely arranged as the real article did. but I assure you, regaurdless of what you felt in your friends TT(passengers always "feel" faster than the driver its the fact that you dont expect it) the TT is VERY much behind the Z in every performance aspect.
0-60 in 7.3sec? almost 2sec slower than the Z. THAT is a noticable difference; if you cant feel the difference like that, then somethings wrong. 7.3sec is slower than the new accord! skidpad, .04g behind the MUSTANG!!! and thats a solid axle V8.
wont argue it without a doubt has a higher quality interior, with real metals and finely textured plastics.
I think the TT is a great looking car but this car continually gets hammered in comparision tests. While I think Audi makes very good cars both the TT and TT Roadster are very overpriced and underpowered.
