Worth investing and modding?
I've had a 2006 Roadster Grand touring for about 3 years, it has 70k miles on it, the switch panel and radio panel started to peel off it's paint, and has like a shiny plastic under it.
I have a dent with a scratch and some other scratches on the car.
the top doesn't even work either.
those are the flaws I see in my car atm. The rocker also started to rust, when I was changing a new sideskirt after a hit and run.
with 70k miles on it, should I keep this car and mod it?
or do you think I should sell it in 5-7 years.
I won't be getting a different car until then, and I'm not sure if it's worth investing in.
but 350z have been becoming relatively cheap over the years, and could be a LOT cheaper in 5 years or so. Should I mod it?
if I did to what extent? New tranny, engine, etc or easy bolt ons?

I would personally start with getting the car looking/working properly before modding. The thing that I can't stand is when you see a nice sounding/performing car, but then feel like I need a tetanus shot from looking at it.
That being said, if you are going to have it for almost another decade, why not get it looking good and then build the motor and drive train? You can make the car a little more fun to drive, and the money invested in getting the car looking good will help with any sort of resale. I personally don't care near as much about body work to repair normal damage a car gets from dings and dents. I am more concerned about wrecks.

Modding is rarely good for resale. It seems like you might not have the time, money, or desire to fix up an older car. There are lots of cool lower mile used cars out there that are not too expensive and perform well. New tranny's , motors etc can get really expensive. Fix up your car but don't mod it until everything is working right.

It's an '06 Nissan ----- It has NO collector value and no investment value at all. Do whatever you need to it to make YOU happy with it, but never make the mistake of thinking you will get your money (or possibly a profit) back out of it. That just doesn't happen. Cars are money pits and arguably the absolute worst investment you can make with your money. But we do it anyway because they are something we love and we love making them "ours" by modding them. Think about it, a new 370Z runs what, around $45,000???? I can buy a very nice 3br/2ba house for under $60,000 in the current market. 10 years from now that 370 will be worth $2000-$5000 (no matter what mods I make) IF I'm lucky, whereas that house will have over doubled in value in that same timeframe. Cars are almost never good investments, and only idiots like us put extra money into them knowing full well that we will never see any real ROI, lol.

06ZR with 70k on it. lots of life left. spend some $$ to get it working properly and keep it or trade for your dream car. Chic love Roadster. keep it a stock as possible for resale or trade in.
