Default Roadster

The Roadster top is a single layer (ie not insulated) so outside noise does get in through the fabric. It is louder than a coupe with the windows up.

The rough top creates some extra wind noise which you can hear at higher speeds. Not bad, but it is there. The top seals tight, there is no air infiltration. I belive you just hear the noise through the fabric top.

If wind noise at highway speeds bugs you I definetely recommend riding in a roadster before writing a check. It is louder than the coupe. To me it is not too loud, but everyone has their own preferences.

Top down it is definetely louder.

Actually noise level with the top up is good, comparable to the coupes I test drove. With top up you can really hear the engine growl, with top down you hear the exhaust note. Both beautiful imo.....

it is noisier than the coupe, but not much. outside noises comes in through the back. sounds like everything is coming from behind you. dont notice any wind noise getting in. you will DEFINATELY hear rain drops as they hit the roof though... similar to the sound of rain hitting an umbrella, but not that loud.

it's a rag top.... we bought these to have the top down! who cares about a little FN noise?
Put you're foot on the brake, release the lever above the mirror and you are 20.0 seconds away from heaven! ENJOY.
Mine is in the garage till spring, since Nove 15th only 500 miles....
Goes like hell, looks, feels, and from all the heads turnimg, It's heaven!!!

I've never rode in the coupe, so I can't say. However, my son's Acura RSX Type S is no quieter than my Roadster. Motorweek actually claims the roadster is quieter than the coupe (?). In any event, you will hear more stuff from behind you, but I sort of expect it. Honestly, I have been surprised at just how quiet the car is. My first convertible, so I expected the worst. I've been pleasantly surprised. If you are even asking the question (I never did, didn't care, and wasn't buying it for a plush, quiet, ride...that is what our Maxima is for), you must be concerned and you owe it to yourself to take one out on the interstate. I will tell you this, it is quieter than having the windows down in a sedan and/or the sunroof open!
