I've never been inside the TT but I assume it should have a better (more upscale) finish.

However...if you want to look feminine go for the TT

TT is more upscale.
The interior is one of the nicest interiors I have ever seen in a car. I personally think that both cars loose their flair when the roof is chopped. Both cars have similar 911ish roof lines that I personally think make the car. With it chopped, they kind of both look like bathtubs on wheels. No offense to roadster owners as this is just my opinion...I also think that the Enzo is the nicest car ever made while others think it is butt ugly.

TT is definetly more upscale, but who cares? Those cars SUCK. I test drove a few when I was looking at the Z. The TT has got to be the worst drivign automobile I have ever been in.. ok so thats a stretch, but definetly the worst $40k car ive been in. It was so slow it was almost undrivable. they do look cool though.

Audi TT definately has a much more upscale interior, but the exterior in roadster form, I like the Z better.

TT is great for chicks who want style, but for guys/gals who like power, theres nowhere else to look than to the Z

A friend of mine who has a "TT" asked to take my "Z" for a ride. He is considering trading. Has had nothing but electrical problems. Does not hold the line like the "Z". All over the road. Opened the doors to show me how the hinges move. The only good thing going is their maintenance program.

Cool

My lease on my Audi A4 2.8 Quattro was up, and I'd been planning on getting a TT for the past year, but honestly, every
time I passed one on the road, there WAS a chick driving it.
I tried the Z coupe and it was a no-brainer, it was for me. I definitely made the right decision!

My wife was the one who told me the TT was a "chick car" and should be avoided by me. She also says the same thing for any car called "Cabriolet." Hidden code words? My wife's dad owned a car dealership. Maybe she knows something.

However, it is 9 degrees and snowing outside. My Z sits with its summer tires and rear-wheel dirve in the garage, whereas the Saabs, TT's and Audi convertibles made it to the parking ramp here at work.

But then, I wouldn't change my mind either. I love the Z.

i agree. i prefer the hardtops. more solid and sleek lines imo.

but back to the orig. ?
i think the z is more appealing. the tt is a sweer car with a much higher quality interior, no doubt. but it is outdated and lacking in performance compaired to other cars in it's price range.

I went from an Audi A4 2.8Q to my Enthusiast... I've hardly looked back. Sure the Audi had a nicer interior, but quite frankly the TT is barely a sports car...

Now if you want "elegant" and want to approach the Z, the car for you would be the BMW Z4. That's got a slightly more aggressive demeanor than the TT without the harshness of a true sportscar such as the Z.

And I agree with the earlier post that the TT needs a facelift.

You are correct. And like I said, I thought the TT looked really cool, so I looked into buying one. I also like the looks of the Honda 2000.

I think the "Cabriolet" theory is bunk.

While the VW Cabrio may be a little feminine, I don't think there's anything at all wrong with a 1962 Porsche Cabriolet, or a 98 Carrera Cabriolet... And while the Ferrari Mondial is ugly, I don't think anything with the horsey up front could be considered a "chick car."

Cabriolet is just a fancy French word for a buggy with a folding top. Don't let words make you squeamish...

The interior of the TT is clean and the ZR cannot compare...

-BUT-

Performance and exterior styling in my opinion goes to the Z...which is why I bought one...

That and the fact that if you're a male and over 5ft...you'll look out of place...

To me the sizing is comparable to a miata...

Audi builds fine automobiles. The car rags all love their interiors. The TT is a car to be seen in, the Z is a car to drive in. When the TT first came out they had to add a rear spoiler because it lacked high speed stability. The Z on the other hand needs a speed limiter because of it's high speed stability, to keep us americans out of jail.

My wife was the one who told me the TT was a "chick car" and should be avoided by me. She also says the same thing for any car called "Cabriolet."
I drive a 911 C4 "Cabriolet". It is anything but a "chick car". It's just a French term for convertable.

I have to agree BOBBYZ. I used to have a Mustang GT convertible so when I decided to buy a Z, I tossed around getting the roadster but it just didn't look right with the top up.

And you're right about the coupe having a 911ish look to it--- usually one of the first things people say when they see my car for the first time is "...It kinda looks like a Porsche!"
