Question Tire cupping on the roadster

I'm very interested in purchasing a roadster but also very concerned about the tire cupping/tire wear issues that I have read about on the Z. When I ask Nissan dealers about it, they all seem so surprised to hear about it. Obviously it's an issue.

Does anyone know if the new roadsters that are arriving are subject to this problem ? I don't mind waiting awhile if there is a fix being implemented by Nissan.

In my reading, it doesn't look like there is a fix. Any news ???

It's too early to tell for me, since I've only got ~1000 miles on the car, but I've been checking for any signs of it and nothing so far.

There's not many Z roadster drivers in Scottsdale yet, which has surprised me a little - I've only seen one other one...

Thanks for the reply. I've seen several in the area. I really want a roadster, but I'm still nervous about this issue. I guess that I'll keep checking around.

I just went over 2000 on mine this weekend. The "feathering" occurs around 5000 miles and will be covered by your warranty if it's still an issue. A couple of guys here in Phoenix have had their tires replaced on the coupes. (03s).. and I would imagine Nissan corrected whatever is causing it on the 04s.

If you want, I have a guy up at Pinnacle Nissan that will give you or find you the answer. PM me if you would like his name.

I don't think there are problems with the 04 roadsters. I only got 3000 miles with no problems yet.

My 350ZR produced 06/03 has feathering and has had the front tires swapped and re-aligned at 7000 miles.

New Bridgestones are on order and should be intsalled this week.

Arrgh, my born on date is 07/03 so I have been worried. I still only have about 2K miles. Time will tell.

5700 miles, no cupping or feathering. I was told the 03's had the issue, but Nissan corrected for 04. Mostly it was just an aligment issue. Warranty is covering anyway!
