Roadster Production #s ?
Anybody heard or seen how many 2004 roadsters are going to be produced by Nissan? I had heard from dealer that its only 8000, but my VIN is 13404. Maybe that's 8000 for U.S. only, hmmm.

Info?
Where did you find that number, I've searched most of Nissan's PR and web and couldn't find it. And what about the VIN number of 13404?

I have mine on order...the dealer told me about 8,000...I don't believe it....According to the Business Section of the Cleveland Plain Dealer front page dated 1-10-04 it pictured the Z coupe and the Best Sellers of '03. The Z was first in the Premium Sporty Car category with 36,728 sold, these numbers were compiled by J.D. Power and Associates, the market research firm..... Just to let you know #2 was the Corvette: 27,972 and 3rd. was BMW Z4:20,169

Mine has a Sept build date.
5596-2370 = 3226 cars made between July and September so that's roughly 1000 cars a month.
They could have easily built another 5000 roadsters by now which brings the count to well over 10,000 by the end of March.
It would be nice to think that Nissan isn't going to build a lot of roadsters but if people keep buying them for Nissan's asking price (and in some cases, higher), then Nissan is going to keep building them indefinitely.

Long before roadster went on sell, I read an article that mentioned that number. My memory told me it is 4,000/yr. But my memory may be wrong. I doubt Nissan is building more than 1 roadster for every 5 coupe built.

> Nissan anticipates this pricier model will constitute about 20 percent of the sales mix for the Z, and that’s the production target.
