Default Looking at a 2009 350z

I am looking at a 09 350z with only 10,000 miles. It seems really new and well taken care of. Driving and handling seems great. I don't know much about 350z but I do know Nissan has pretty reliable cars. Have there been any major issues with the 09 350z I need to be aware of or look for. I'm really thinking about purchasing it.

With that few miles, probably not much to worry about.

The HR-engine-equipped Z has only one semi-major foible to be concerned with down the road and that's the concentric slave cylinder for the clutch. But there are good fixes for that known issue so not something to worry about until time to do the clutch. (If it's an automatic, which many roadsters seem to be, then that's irrelevant.)

Otherwise, that's a very young car. Good luck and welcome.

Thanks for the input. It is a grand touring model and it has the automatic with the manual electronic shifting option.

The drive mode is fine but you can really feel the power in manual driving. Handled really well.

Sounds like a cream-puff. If you need/want an auto of any flavor/year/vehicle good but..."rowin' your own" is where its at for a roadster in my book (performance, driving experience and fun-factor). 6MTs are out there with no top, low mileage and in well-maintained form if your patient and targeted on your search. If that ride fits your life-style and expectations though...jump on it.

To answer your question, a lot of web archive data on pros/cons of Nissan's, VQ-series and 350's specifically, etc...buy with confidence. Something breaks...beh...its an older platform...fix it, move on and continue to enjoy the car. Lotta fun with the top-down in a Z.

Thanks. I wanted the wife to be able to drive it so we wanted a auto but the manual mode is nice when I do want to have fun. I did purchase it today. Sweet ride for sure. Somebody really took care of it and barly drove it. 11k and they put new tires on 9 months ago.

Looks great!
Not saying you should do this, but there are paddle shifters available for any car with "shiftable automatic" modes..they cost about $500. That might be a fun compromise.

I have considered this as well. I know of two places that sell paddle shifters for the 350Z - Bell works and Innovative Ignitions:

http://www.innovativeignitionsystems...addle-shifters

http://www.tunersgroup.com/Online_St...n_Shifter.html

The IIS shifter attaches to the steering wheel whereas the Works Bell shifter attaches to the steering column.
