Default Timeline for top repair??

Could anyone tell me how long it took to get the top replaced for pinholes on their Z? I noticed one this morning & I'm going to have the dealer take a look tomorrow. Thanks!

Took 5 weeks for my top to arrive and about 2 days to install. Should have only taken 1 day, but they forgot to order new rollbar covers and since they have to break the tabs on the rollbar covers to get them off, I had to wait an extra day for new ones to arrive.

Thanks for this info - I've talked to a few service departments, but all of them explained how strange it seems to be and appear to be totally unfamiliar with this type of issue. Please let me know if any of you have had experience with a local LA service department with this issue & have had any further success in getting the problem remedied. Thanks!

i couldnt find a definate tsb for it, but here is one that might be it.
NTB03071

got it from nissan site... http://www.nissan-techinfo.com/nissa...0.asp?mscssid=

it is a very common problem apparently for roadsters released in early months.

try calling the 1800 nissan number and get the tsb for the top. if it is a worn looking spot, that is not it i think. it is a hole through the entire top. i think my mechanism pinched the hole in the top.

Took about 2 months to get new top on site after reporting problem. I had actually given up because I had not heard anything. Took four hours to install top. Another month later I got a call and they wanted to put a couple brackets or shims on the top. The service manager said that Nissan finally figured out what was causing the holes and if they did not install these parts they would have to replace the top again. That was another 4 hours.

It's wet and cold here now. This summer it will be hot so I will have a chance to lower and raise the top alot. I will be looking for the wearing or holes to come back.

Update: Took about a month to get the new top. Took it in today, Nissan provided a rental car (A dodge dakota!, What a boat!). The car will be ready tomorrow. Service Manager said it is a 8-9 hr job with prep and other issues. I have the frost interior so did request they be careful not to get it dirty. They are also checking on the bose hu, to be sure I'm clear on that issue. All in all a pretty good experience service wise...
They have a silverstone coupe for sale, 10K miles, $28.9. Also a cs roadster and a cs coupe, both touring for sale.
