Default Help! Top will not fully close.

Need your help please! Attempted to close the top last night and now it’s stuck and won’t fully close. It was suggested that I tap the lid motors or the limit switch. Can somebody please tell me where I can locate the limit switch? I have tried to research diagrams but have wasted way too much time And still have not found what I’m looking for.

The fifth bow is not fully retracting to allow the storage lid to close and then to lower and complete it’s closing process. I am at a loss and not sure what to do at this point. My car is stuck In my sisters garage and I need to get it out of there and get this situation fixed or at least the top fully closed for now. A friend mentioned trying to tap the lid motors and the limit switch. Tried to find the limit switch but am still unsure of its exact location.

I have owned the car for 2+ years (it’s a 2004 that I bought in 2017) so please bare with me as I am not familiar with all the moving parts of the convertible top. I am a visual learner, any pictures or diagrams would be super helpful.

I removed the negative Battery terminal for over 10 minutes but that did nothing to help. I’ve read post after post and searched the net for other options and also YouTube and still have not found help with my current situation. I’m at a loss right now and need some very appreciated direction. HELP!

As you can see the 5th bow is stuck about 3/4’s of the way to retracting to allow the storage lid to close and is now stuck. When I press on the close button I can hear a clicking sound and a motor/motors trying but nothing happens.

Thank you all, waiting ever so patiently,

Dominique (Dom for short)

I'm not sure the year of your roadster, but here's the FSM for the roof. Maybe it will help you out.

As for the limit switch location:

Thank you so much for sending the information to me! Regarding the capture of the location of the 5th bow limit switch, is there a link to the site where you got that from? I’m asking Incase I have to look elsewhere for other limit switches that might be a problem. I’m going to look into this one first and go from there also wondering where I could find the part # for it.

Thank you again!

Got it figured out. It was not the limit switch. It was the 5th bow motor. Sent it out for repair.
