I followed a guide on taking off my old soft top and everything was great until I was just about to put my new soft top in, I went to reposition the roof and after closing, the opening function doesn’t lift the rear cover off anymore. It just clicks and only the last bar moves. Before I took the top off, the motor worked perfectly and showed no sign of giving out. Any clue what I may have done that caused this?

The clicking seems to be coming from the two latches inside the soft top storage area that hold the rear cover.

Photo shows most open position it allows now. What motor opens the cover shown in the bottom of the photo?

The tonneau cover or storage lid is operated by a storage lid actuator motor that looks similar to the window motors. It's located in the rear left area of the trunk close to the taillight.
