Burnt orange ventilated seats - ugly???
Finally saw the venitilated seats. My first impression was that they're ugly. They do grow on you though. By the time I was done with my test drive, they were less offensive. I do like the ventilation they give. That was pretty cool (no pun intended). I just wish they had ventilated seats available in black or charcoal.
Just wonder if anyone else had this same reaction. First impressions mean alot and I wonder if most people find them ugly or is it just me? BTW, I plan to get the Siverstone color if I buy the Z.
Should I look at aftermarket ventiliated seats? Does anyone else make these for the Z? If so, where?

One dealer said he would order me the Silverstone with Burnt Orange ventilated seats. However, he was told that they were discontinuing the Burnt Orange ventilated seats. BUT, BUT, BUT...Remember this was a dealer talking. Take it for what it is worth...not much.

Love 'em
I absolutely love my Burnt Orange ventilated seats (especially get lots of admirers and comments on the UTX colors, since I'm only 50 miles from school).
They are very supportive, love the ventilation, but the seat heaters don't seem to get very hot.

Do the heaters get hot enough or? I was wondering about that.

The day I got my car it was between a silver with burnt orange seats and blue top or black on black roadster. I am not a fan of blue tops so I got the black car, I would have taken it with whatever seats it has. The black leather has little burnt orange holes all throughout tho.

UTX is University of Texas, in Austin.
I'm used to the heated seats in my '03 Suburban and they get so hot that you can't leave them on high for more than a few minutes, plus they heat up the back also, Z doesn't. I haven't finished trying them out, but right now I will probably ask dealer about them on my first service visit. They are warm in spots but not hot.
Oh, BTW, when I first started looking for a fun convertible to buy, I first thought I wanted a Z4. I went out and drove a Z4, S2000 and 350Z. The power, torque, rounded muscle lines and tightness of the 350Z sold me on it. Only had mine a few days now, but I absolutely love it.

I fell in love with the BO ventilated seats from day 1, but like Whataguy, I've got the LS. I do think that the BO seats look absolutely amazing on the SBs, but I can't even imagine trying to keep the SB clean.

I've got a SS/BO that I ordered and waited 3 1/2 months for, so obviously I like them. Initially I ordered CS/Frost/Blue but I kept looking at the 360 degree roadster on NissanUSA.com. It is SS/BO and it grew on me. It really is a striking interior and gets a lot of comments. The interior on all of the cars is the same, black. There is a pic on this forum somewhere of the BO in a european car. They have burnt orange accents on the shifter and even looks better. I think the best combination is the SB/BO but I didn't want to have to deal with another black car, especially one so low to the ground as it picks up and shows even more dirt. I didn't want a convertable with a dark interior (charcoal) as it heats up more in the sun. As far as the heated seats are concerned, Nissan/Infinity seats don't get very hot at all. The ones in my roadster (ventialted burnt orange) seem to heat up more and faster than the ones in my FX.

I thought the burnt orange seats looked really cool. Very racy. They very much help define the style of the car. However, I was worried that they would get dirty over time. Dirty orange anything is not a pretty picture. So I went with the black leather.

My seats seem more tan than some of the pictures I see. I'm not sure if the orange color varies.
My heated seats dont get very warm. I can keep them on all the time without getting to hot. I am going to ask the dealer about this at my next service. Maybe its because the backs of the seats don't get warm so the bottom feels cooler overall when compared to other cars.
American car seat heater are much better. In our old Grand Cherokee, the seats would probably catch fire if they were left on. This was nice on those cold mornings.

Re: Burnt orange ventilated seats - ugly???
I have a SB Roadster with the vent seats, and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM. Give the car just a splash of color, and they keep your but firmly planted in the seat during cornering. Also, I am finding that they don't show the wear as bad as the "all leather" seats.

I'm with most of you on the BO seats; I think they are awesome! I would find it hard to believe they are being discontinued. I had the chance to sit in a LS with BO in the showroom and found them quite comfy. I need more in terms of back support, so probably wouldn't work for me over the long haul. But I think they are great looking and certainly unique. srm
